So some of you know that I had to put my cat down on Wednesday night. I will link the thread about what happened below. But in that thread I was contemplating adopting a kitten to help fill that void. https://www.myptsd.com/threads/so-u...ardest-decision-of-my-life.44546/#post-713608

Well I did. And I don't think it's just going to be the one. I meet one of her litter mates on Monday to see if I'm taking him too.

So everyone meet Nylah. She 8 weeks old and is already a vocal cuddle bug. My dog has taken on a protective mothering role already. Anytime Nylah cries my dog is immediately there sniffing her to see if she's ok. She cleans Nylah's butt, sleeps beside Nylah's bed and occasionally checks on her. It's sweet.

@mytai great news. As a cat lover myself I know how sad I was when I lost Mossop and just had to have another. Straight to Cats Protection League and I adopted three litter mates as 10 week olds.

AWW So cute @mytai. It's really cool that your dog can get along with her new friend. My cat only gets along with one of my dogs.:( That's because she's a Chihuahua cross and smaller than the cat! (our other dog is a kelpie/cattle dog she doesn't like cats) I think pets are an invaluable part of our lives and can bring comfort sometimes when people cannot.[DOUBLEPOST=1400290567,1400290505][/DOUBLEPOST]Awesome name by the way!

Getting her today instantly helped my suicidal thoughts lessen, I feel more present, my heart hurts a little less (but more at the same time - I miss my little dude so much). I bring Nylah with me on Monday to meet Moose (the little male kitten who's a runt), as long as they get along and I feel like Moose will be a good fit into my family I will be bringing him home too. I will post pictures of him too.

Hoping my T will be ok with me bringing Nylah, I'm going to email her to ask closer to our session next week. She was ok with my dog coming to sessions, but I stopped bringing her because I found her more of a distraction than a help. Crossing my fingers that Nylah can go with me.

@The Albatross, thank you. My username was after my cat that I just lost Tai. Nylah is such a lover, and what better way to confuse a kitten than by calling him Moose.[DOUBLEPOST=1400291034,1400290883][/DOUBLEPOST]@macbeth, I think I like my pets (and other people's pets) more than I like people. Pets don't betray you, love you unconditionally, and don't get uncomfortable when you are depressed. They stay by your side.

Oh mytai, this post lifted my heart so much! I am so happy for you and SO glad to hear that these new babies are helping to comfort you. May they continue to be a source of strength as you deal with the loss of Tai.

And oh my goodness, Nylah is absolutely precious... she is really tempting me to go make my own dream of a baby grey kitty a reality... ;)

Oh I am so happy for you - she is absolutely gorgeous Mytai!!!!!!!

I adopted two kittens recently. I got the first one, he was black with dark pinky paw pads like Nylah. He was estimated to be about -5 months old. # weeks alter I was still kitten clunky, and adopted an 8 week old semi-wild kitten, cos I needed a small kitten fix, and my other kitten being a lot bigger when I got him. They play together and while I was a bit doubtful about 'two' it was the best decision. They are best mates even though they weren't from the same litter, and he was a lot older than her. He took her under his wing, and licked her, groomed, her, and disciplined her - 'brotherly' love ;).

I now have 2 dogs and cats - but my friends tell me I'm still 33 cats away from becoming The Crazy Cat Lady ;).

My smallest kitten I called Mouse - she suits is because a) she was born in a barn and lived her first 8 weeks in a barn full of mice; b) her mum used to bring the kittens live mice to play with, c) she was so tiny! d) she squeaks instead of meows, e) she is feisty - her name will be an oxymoron as she gets older cos obviously she won't be small like a mouse, AND she is anything but mouse-like in behavior - already the boss of the house, she STRUTS around like she's bigger than every other fur baby in the house, including the dogs!

My other kitten I called Boo - cos he is black, and probably born in October (halloween). ;)
