(((Rain))), I don't answer the door if I don't know who is there. But if I heard someone shouting for help, I probably would think and just open it on instinct. I'd hope my dogs would be a deterrent.

It is horrific that people will prey on the good nature of others. Occassionally you hear stories where someone has been hurt and no-one has helped, we must always be alert. (((Your poor friend)))

Thank you so much for posting this. It must be very hard. As someone who stays home alone all day, I'm glad to know this risk is possible. I often get mad at my fiancé for his insistence that he be home anytime a workman or delivery is made, but now I realize bad stuff can happen.

What a terrible thing to happen to your friend. She sounds very strong. I'd be incensed if this happened to my best friend, I can only imagine how you feel. Anytime someone mistreats my best friend I feel like I wanna go Rambo on everybody's ass like I can single handedly bring painful justice to all the ass holes that screw with people just for the hell of it.

I'm really glad she has you as a friend.
