I Have An Interview

I applied for a job a while ago, I was the perfect applicant, I ticked all the boxes and it was a job similar to my last one, which I loved. I was gutted to not even have an interview. I learned they hadn't interviewed and the job had gone to an internal applicant.

As I was internet job searching I found another job for this company. This time it was for the next level down, more in a supporting role rather than taking the lead. I sent the same application I'd sent for the first post and I had a letter this morning offering me an interview. I am so pleased and yet cannot stop shaking.

The interview will be 90 minutes and be an interview and a task based exercise. I have a feeling my lemon oil will be sprinkled around like holy water.

So next Tuesday 21st June at 9am, could I please have your positive thoughts, strength and if you can cross fingers and anything else that would be amazing.

Any calming tips would be great because did I tell you, I HAVE AN INTERVIEW:roflmao::sick::D:eek::tup:

Prepare the evening or day before... have it all laid out and decided before hand. That way you don't have to make choices... what to wear, what to say on your resume... I even have a cheat sheet with my basic information on it so all I have to do is copy from it when filling out the app. Less is more, answer directly and do a visualization of a perfect interview. Write about it, critique what you imagine... what you can do better. Self care and grounding before the interview... and a treat or "reward"... something you can look forward to after. Good luck!

Hi KP

Maybe wear something red for confidence too. It can be hidden away, a bit like wonder women and her red knickers, only underneath not on top.

A Carnelian or Red Jasper crystal could help, tucked away in a pocket or worn round your neck as a pendant. My Red Jasper worked a treat at the dentist last week. ;)

KP, after you so sweetly accompanied me to my last interview, so too my spirit will be with you next week. I had an interview this morning and shook violently the whole time. I really don't think it's as noticeable as we think.

Something that helps me with interviews is, before I go in, I very firmly tell myself, "You know that you are a great candidate for this job, and you will do your best to show them that. If they do not take you, it is a loss for them as well."

Good luck!

Good luck, KP! I had 2 interviews today and I am exhausted tonight. Muscles quivering as my body tries to release the anxiety. I did a lot of slow, deep breathing and told myself, I am who I am. If I am not a good fit for them, then it won't be good for either of us and I certainly do not need that. Breathe, slow, deep breathing. Feel the breath going in and slowly going out. In through the nose, out through the mouth, slow my racing mind. Then, see what happens. Either way, I survived.

I am giggling at the Wonder Woman underwear. I must get some. But not for on top, as noted.

Big hugs! You are brave, and I hope you can feel it when you most need it!

Breathing is excellent. I do cleansing breaths because I have asthma that attacks me when I'm nervous.

That's normal inhale, then gently exhale as usual, through the nose, as slowly as you can stand, until you think you've breathed out everything.

Then don't breathe in yet. Wait a second and relax the diaphragm and as much else as you can (my doctor taught me this whole biofeedback routine - cause I had ulcers when I was fourteen! Duh, wonder why).

I was supposed to imagine all the tension flowing from my extremities, to my diaphragm, up out my nose.

Wacky, I know, but it probably bought me another few years of sanity!

Anyway, I am quite the chatty cathy tonight.

.

My T has me visualising cosmic light flowing into me, slowly blasting away pain/anxiety until it flows out of my extremities taking pain/anxiety with it. It does help although maybe I'm just gullible:roflmao:.

Anyway, I am quite the chatty cathy tonight.

Welcome to the forum and I thank you for the advice. Feel free to chat away especially when the new chat room arrives.

((HUGS)) if you will accept them

Many thanks for all your words of encouragement and advice.

I had a huge boost to my confidence this morning. A guy I've know for years, whom I've worked with on various projects, phoned me. He is working with a charity again one which knows me and whom I've worked with and helped them find grants. He and this group want to do a joint project and he has asked me to join with them to help deliver the project. I know I am good in my field but it is amazing to have that recognised by others and to have a good reputation. It may not come to anything, we are having lunch in a couple of weeks to talk it over but wow.

I have a major issue with self esteem but maybe, just maybe I can see myself as others see me, not a fat worthless blob, but someone with knowledge, someone with whom they want to work, someone they like.

KP if you did not know what you were talking about, this guy would not have phoned you. He phoned because he KNOWS FOR SURE that you CAN do this when it happens.

You have the knowledge now go use your inner power. Let the goddess in you fly free.
