I keep waking up

I had night terrors for years...they suck. So sorry you are having them. Are you doing the counseling thing? It and a sleep program were what it took to get them under control for me

I still do the same thing since 1978. At different times it goes away for a while but always comes back. Last night I woke up 3 times the bed wet from sweat and the covers all on the floor. wake up almost screaming and hitting at something. My wife at times attempts to wake me up sometimes. Only thing I have found that helps me is for her to hold me tight when I start back to sleep. But she has been elbowed a time or too on the worst nights. I have talked to T different ones over the years but only one medicine helped for awhile then it started messing up my blood pressure an I had to stop taking it.

ugh. I spoke too soon. Yep - they are back. Had me up all night. Karma for saying I was over them??

I'm wondering -- does it get worse for you when the weather changes?

I was put on prazosin (sp?) for my nightmares. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't, though everytime I have taken it the next morning into the day is awful as I am a total zombie.
When I am stressed or have anxiety, then it triggers the nightmares. Sometimes I just don't want to go to bed, so I stay up as long as I physically can before just passing out just to sleep for a couple of hours. Sometimes, this pattern goes on for weeks at a time.

Recently, I have only been able to sleep 3 to 4 hours at a time and then waking up unable to go back to sleep.
