I lost my job this past week.
I was hospitalized about 5 weeks ago due to SI.
I have since lost my job.
I have no job.
I had told my supervisor I was struggling with a new diagnosis of severe MDD and PTSD.
I thought he understood.
I knew any day I was going to find an antidepressant that would help.
I did find an antidepressant that is helping.
Just to little to late.
I don't know how to tell my kids.
We won't be able to afford health insurance.
How will I continue to pay for my therapy, my psychiatrist, my medication, everything I need to manage my Type 1 Diabetes?

You're talk like you're assuming you will never work again, never have income of any kind, and that all of this is true from this second onward. Dominos of catastrophizing, yes? Slow things down.

Worst case scenario, you can still get all of those things taken care of. Bills can be placed on hold, insurance either extended or replaced with state, etc. Lots of et cetera. Way too many ways to take care of what you need to take care of, to list.

Best case scenario, you'll be covered by unemployment & other stop-gap measures, until you find a new job, with no interruption in anything (insurance, bills, etc.).

I'm sorry that you lost your job. That's a sh!tty situation. You should be eligible for unemployment and COBRA for your insurance coverage to keep up for 18 months... some of the et ceteras that @Friday was mentioning.

Apply for unemployment immediately. Find out when you need to apply for your insurance and do that too.

Your new job has become looking for a new job. Get your resume together, spruce it up, start searching. Use anyone you know to ask for referrals and references.

It can be done. Being proactive will help.

Thank you @Friday and @Shells.
Thank you for helping me keep perspective.
Losing perspective is one of the big symptoms for me with the depression.
Also, thank you for mentioning catastrophizing @Friday...funny thing...at my worst, just before I sent myself to the hospital...everything I was catastrophizing about...has actually happened...and I'm still here!
So that's a good thing.
