I Realize That I

I realize that I am a bit more of a risk taker than I thought I was. I roll the dice every time I dial my mother's phone number. But I do it anyways.

I realize that I am sicker than I thought I was.

I realize that I can have stress and anxiety and still do the right thing (called my mother back and had a little conversation with my agency, both went well I'm two for two today!).

I realize that I do have the ability to heal, even though it may take a long time and require a lot of courage and determination. And help from others with whom I'm willing to share my vulnerability. I will not always feel as chaotic and weak and helpless as I do now.

I realize that my daughters divorce is out of my control and me worrying about her and the kids and what is the ex husband going to think of next to stress her out. He is a very scary guy and he is so angry. But he keeps losing all of the battles he starts. I am so glad that my daughters attorney is better than his.

I realize that I have a loving and supportive husband who just last night has begun to sense the real difficulties I'm having.

I realize that I can have a life of my own, and it does not always have to be tied into my husband and his PTSD.

I realize the reason I am panicked right now is that I am doing something just for myself--nobody else.

I realize that I needlessly question my own boundaries because they were violated a lot as a child. However, I am in control of them now and I do not need to continue to question their verisimilitude.

I am realizing everything happens for a reason except for the evil people who abuse and harm others. I am realizing it may take a very long time, but good comes out of the bad.

I realize that, like the song says, "I am but a moments sunlight fading in the grass", but it impresses upon me the need to live each moment as if it were my last and to make the most of the time that I have here on earth.

I also realize that the love in my heart and the peace of mind I carry are the greatest gifts I have to share with others and hope that I do so in such a way that I will be remembered with love and fondness!!!
