Wow it is to sell cutlery and such MissA.. Oh please, please. please let me go to one of there interviewing/hiring traps I will show them what happens to a person whom has close personal knowledge through experience for all that they can be used for........... Maybe I can show the gentleman whom interviewed and hired you all through live demonstration and use him as a (un)willing participant. I promise it will be a presentation he will never forget to which I truly believe it would change his views on what it is like to prey on the unsuspecting.........

Like I said, Ray. I'll get my PhD and clean my boots with scumrags like him.

I could have done very, very well in that job. I truly believe I could. If I had no emotion or purpose or ethics, just my pure ability to persuade, I know I could have made money.

I was waiting for him to call me to his office and praying that he wouldn't hire me, praying that I had stayed quiet enough. When I sat down in his office, he said, "You strike me as a smart...yada, yada" It took all my effort and anxiety to keep me from blurting out, "Smarter than you think, obviously, because I really don't want this job."

Besides, the editor of the newspaper wants to talk to me about my story pitch exposing Vector. ;)

That's not always 100% true. I know a large, international, very-well-known, extremely reputable corporation that has a call center in my city. When someone applies for a job the first step in the process is to attend a group information session where they tell you about the company and the position. An applicant must attend this group session to move on in the hiring/application process. This company and their jobs are not scams. I know people who work for this company.

You may have heard of them...it's a little corporation called Hilton. *sarcasm*

So while MissAntiSunshine's experience was a scam of sorts, one cannot automatically assume that if applicants are brought in as a group it is always a scam.

I'm sorry I've never heard of Hilton, I'll check them out

There are many methods and means to which companies both large and small interview to hire. Just as they interview you to be hired It might be a good idea to interview the company prior to applying for a job. Of course this means doing things like researching the company like you did prior to applying for it and such.

I will caution (I hate to be so cynical) many companies that smile on the outside may really frown on the inside, The need for profit is great and unfortunately the teetering of the line is often flirted with by companies of being moral and good vs numbers to show stock holders in profits. That said not all companies are bad! You just need to seek ones out that fulfill your needs and wants.

Aw mang I have had interviews like that.. for some reason I just look at them as centipedes.. I literally imagine them as vile soulless centipedes and I am so ridiculously revolted. Perhaps I shouldn't have read/watched Naked Lunch.

Haha. I read the first post. And I was like, its Vector. And then I get to the end, and it is! When I was in business school, they use to take up our class time trying to recruit us. I wonder how much they paid the University to waste our time. (Of course, I do know someone who loves their knives, lol.)
