I have heard this can be effective for treatment of PTSD. I am thinking of trying it. Anyone have experience?

I tried to post a link but I still can't. Google ibogaine ptsd

Haven't tried it, but I have heard about it via documentaries...mainly to do with ayauasca journey's. Without an experienced shaman...like a real one, not a "become a shaman in two weeks" "shaman", I wouldn't even consider it though. You'd be better off trying ayauasca, which I think contains iboga in some dose? Not sure about that though. Ayauasca is pretty much a medicine for most mental disorders. There have been some fantastic outcomes, but again, without a genuine shaman to guide and hold the space for you, I wouldn't even consider it.

Its just that I am frustrated with navigating Canadian health care. Mental health sucks. I went to the ER and now I have a referral to a psychiatrist but that will take time and I know I'll just be given drugs that won't work and have nasty side effects.

I can understand that, and I'm not saying don't do it. If you feel that this drug may be the answer or at least offer something that can help you, then by all means, do what you feel is right for you. I'm just saying, do your best to find someone reputable, who knows about the drug and can be a safe guide to help you through it.

Even finding a therapist who practises using pure MDMA as a conduit to unlocking repressed stuff might be something worth considering? Just make sure you have someone there to hold the space for you. Doing it on your own might not be a very good idea is what I'm basically saying. But doing it with someone who doesn't know anything about how to be a guide or hold safe space for you, might be even worse than doing it alone, if you see what I'm saying.

I guess keeping it in perspective is a good thing as well. I mean, I'm not from canada, but they seem to have it a lot better there than in the States, when it comes to health care.

Ibogaine is completely legal in Canada. It has proven effective for opiate addiction. It's illegal in the US so many American addicts cross the border for ibogaine treatment and the relapse level is lower than traditional detox/rehab.

I don't use opiates and there have been mixed results for PTSD. I can get ibogaine but I don't want to do it alone and I cannot afford to go to the nearest clinic which is in Toronto and costs $4500.

If I find a way to try it safely and it works for me I would even try to open an ibogaine clinic in my area, which is a poor area with high unemployment and high ratea of opiate addiction. I'd make it cheaper or free. Maybe charge Americans and people from rich parts of Canada but locals come for free.

Ok, I didn't realise that it was legal in Canada. It sounds like you have researched it quite a lot. Best of luck with it. I hope it does some good for you if you choose to consume it.
