Get my landlord to admit that the damp in my flat is ground water penetration and their responsibility / fault, and not caused by condensation. Then agree to fix it instead of fobbing me off.

If a licensed inspector says so… do the laws in your area motivate his arse &/or free you up from paying rent &/or giving notice to move?

@Friday its been proven several times, but its a no win situation. I live in whats called Social Housing so my flat is owned by the local authority. But because they are a local government they have the authority to ignore any building survey that's not been done by their own employed surveyor, so they ignore every report that tells them what they don't want to hear.

Most of my rent is paid by benefit (government) as I'm long term disabled and unable to work, if I withhold what little rent I pay, they can throw me out and refuse to rehouse me, leaving me homeless, or worse rehousing me in a property that's worse than this one.

I'm looking for somewhere else to live, but thanks to a government change in disability benefits I'm faced with a £50 per week drop in income if I move.

Effectively I'm stuck in a property which is damp, which is making my physical and mental health worse and I've been fighting to get it rectified for over 5 years now.

Walk away from all the external reminders of family, dinners, and care, which no longer exist much for me. Christmas is a time exclisively for families, who are busy with their own families, there's no room at the inn, lol. Short of many here, who's kiding who, or I'm kidding myself, others don't get it and never will (hopefully). Tired of being where I'm not welcome and don't belong.

do it all again but with about 36 months 50 years ago spent anywhere but where i was at the time. The rest was tolerable this time around and i survived it but without those 3 years casting their shadow on all that followed i could have thrived!

Adopt the same time limit of advertising/campaigning PRIOR to elections, most of the rest of the world so sensibly uses. 2 weeks, or 2 months, instead of 2+ years?!? Please. For the love of god. Politicians start campaigning the moment they are elected, here. Are focused on reelection instead of the task at hand, unless they’re at the end of their term limit and then FINALLY something gets done. Unless they’re attempting to revoke term limits. Hundreds of millions needed to finance those years long campaigns, restricts candidates to those who’ve kissed SOMEONE’S ring. It’s inherently corrupt. Hence most of the rest of the world? Noping out. I doubt we’ll do it, though. Those years long campaigns fill coffers of too many.

Make all happening in my life right now be in summer, winter makes me more anxious always.
Besides, my winter wardrobe is ridiculously or ironically, literally in another country with my friends currently (didn't think staying with family would move to the direct winter period when it was first happening).
