I miss the way chat used to load in a separate screen so it was easier to stay in chat while browsing around the forum. This was nice because chat tends to be empty when I want to use it, and I need to hang around for a while to catch someone in there.

If that's already been addressed or fixed, I'm sorry.

I have to open in new tab, and then refresh the tab in order for chat to open. But otherwise, yes it works the same way.

The following sounds like it is a non-issue as it will be changed later in the year anyway.

Having just read the bit about not adding too much to people's profiles, this might not be possible... but how about being able to add a flag to your profile bit that shows when you post? As in a flag showing where you live.

I've not been on here long enough to know where everyone lives and if I post something from here in the UK to someone in the States about Combat Stress they have no idea what I'm talking about, same with someone telling me about the facilities that the VA has.

Just a thought - it might help to gear the advice and comments to what is actually available to that person.

The reason why that isn't there is because it would be forced, being to identify a members location, even by country, which is not up to myself or staff, but is for the member to divulge. Thus, if they choose that they can enter their location into the appropriate profile field and it will make a clickable location to show on Google maps.

If you're watching the thread, you can unwatch it... thus you won't receive updates for it. Though no, a thread cannot be ignored. Staff can ban a person from a thread, though a member cannot do it for themselves.

Maybe if they just didn't popup again until you logged off and back on again. That way you could delay dealing with it...

I think you can stop the notifications popping back up, if you choose 'dismiss notification', rather than just using the 'x' to close it.
