Imo google android sucks

I know nothing about tablets. There are a few Google things on my phone that I've been able to turn off. At least it looks like it. I've turned off the feature that tells them exactly where I am. But, if you want to use something else, like the Store, you have to enable location tracking to do it. NOT HAPPENING! But, this seems totally unfair and unreasonable. I'm not using Chrome, I'm using Firefox. I'm using Duck Duck Go as my search engine, I should be able to use what I want, it's MY phone!

But, it does appear that they have it set up to limit your ability to do what you want the way you want.

I wish you luck!

I'm an Apple-Girl.

I have to use burner phones, however, due to an ongoing stalker situation. Most of which are? :wtf: Android.

We (read back when I was married) used to have dozens of the lastest & greatest devices of all things mobile. As the employees & their families of TheEx's company were given them to be trialing. (A 3rd party company every mobile company uses, so they were all pretty keen on their toys working as seamlessly as possible.) So it's not like I haven't had the "expensive" versions of android products, by a helluva lot of different manufacturers. Box of new doodads gadgets & gizmos every other week sometimes. Cheap or expensive, though, anything android platform is just clunky & badly working junk, IMO. Give me generations old Apple products over the newest & snazziest Android product any day of the week. As I've tried them all, and they all suck.

@Neverthesame I've had my iPad for 4-5 yrs and I've never had 1 issue with it..... If there was a slight issue, a soft or hard reboot, worked every time....

I've backed up all of my stuff:cp:

I'll see what friend and his son know and think about either rooting, or putting a whole fresh operating system on.

Thinking about it, Android uses a Linux kernel, so, as long as a Linux uses the same boot loader, a Linux should boot up on here.

Interestingly, one of the persistent Google services that will not stay switched off, is Google location services - I have "location data" turned off in the settings, and it has been turned off since I got this tablet:rolleyes:
