Improv Group

Tonight I go to my first group therapy. It's an improv class for people with social anxiety. The first half is improv exercises and the second half is processing. Three full hours. I think the amount of time and the fact it's about 10 people (big group to me) has me freaking out. Sincerely don't want to go but I'm gonna. Determined to get through this block even if I have to call uber for a ride.
 
This is the best thing l have read in a long time. So impressed that you are moving forward with this. Is it the journey, the outcome of the journey, who knows. You are on this path, forging ahead, got to take my hat off to you. You got this.
 
Two local therapists offer the group. One has all kinds of theatre experience and the other is a specialist in anxiety disorders. My T recommended it a couple of years ago. Finally found the courage to sign up.
 
I wanted to give you guys an update. We've had two meetings so far. The class is 2.5 hours. I start counting time after 90 minutes. I find I am fine with constructivecriticism but I cry at the therapists saying what I'm feeling iso okay. T said it was building some of the blocks I missed growing up. Having parents saying I'm okay just the way I am.

The class is very challenging. I enjoy the movement exercises. Not so much the performance stuff.
