Hello. I just discovered this forum. I am a combat veteran (Vietnam and Desert Storm) 100% disabled due to PTSD. I was medically retired from the military due to my symptoms and time required for therapy. I have been in therapy since the 80s and the VA's Outreach Program, and participate in individual, group and inpatient therapy. I have attended the program at the National Center for PTSD, Research Division at Menlo Park, CA., and returned for their Booster Program three times.
I have learned (pretty much) to manage my little corner of the world in a way that allows me to enjoy life and feel good about myself, with a solid base of therapudic support and some medication (Paxil). The symptoms never go away, but they can be managed.

Hi Ted,

Welcome to the forum. Your introduction is wonderful, as it brings a message of hope to those here that are just starting the process of therapy and learning to manage PTSD.

Look forward to your posts.

Take care
Debbie

Hi Ted,
A very warm welcome to you, especially as a fellow combat veteran.
I have learned (pretty much) to manage my little corner of the world in a way that allows me to enjoy life and feel good about myself, with a solid base of therapudic support and some medication (Paxil). The symptoms never go away, but they can be managed
I myself have been struggling with PTSD since the mid 80's and find your message as a light of hope to all fellow suffers.
Warmest regards, Sean :)

Hi Ted,

Welcome to the forum. Thanks for your service (both you and Sean). Any of us with PTSd owe a debt of gratitude toward combat service men and women. Without you trail blazers, PTSD wouldn't be recieving the attention and research it is now.

Looking forward to reading your posts and sharing the journey.
