A lot of times when we hear about PTSD we hear about the veteran being irritated. Today I realize that I have some things that make me irritable.
For example, one of my friends who is dating a soldier in Iraq recently posted a picture of her 7 year old son in full DCUs complete with rank and the child was saluting infront of a big American Flag. Seeing it, I suddenly felt sick. I went quickly from sick to irritated, but cant really pin point why I am having this reaction. The desert uniform makes me think of War. fear, and the possibility some one might not come home. It just seemed profane to put it on a small child in such a serious way. Maybe I am out of line here. I am a proud American. I love our soldiers. It's not that I lack patriotic feeling...

To be honest, I may have thought that pic would be cute, a son honoring his daddy by way of following in his footsteps.

However, I see your point as well. PTSD makes wonderful people do horrible things, the military causes PTSD in those wonderful people, the uniform represents the military. It makes sense to me.
