This has been a BIG eventful last week or so. I finished EMDR pertaining to the rape, went out with friends 2 weekends in a row. This past weekend it was NOT easy and in fact induced several panic attacks, but I did it. I have been going regularly (3-4 times a week) to the gym. Just making steps to work on a better me. I have been mentoring under another dog trainer friend to become one myself.

Today I decided it is time to look for a limited part time job. I have not worked in over a year after the rape happened. It was also due to head injury, but mostly my PTSD has kept me out. I could easily get my old job back working as a manager for Chick Fil A, but I am not ready for that, even without the manager position. So I have applied for a few dog walking/sitting positions on care.com. These will allow for flexible times and interaction with only a few people. Even though Bristol won't be able to be with me, I will be interacting with dogs, which bring a level of comfort just being around.

I need to be able to pull in some income to spend on gas and stuff for Bristol and I. I got into a huge fight with my mom today and I am tired of her holding things over my head. I know I will not be able to work full time or enough to move out anytime soon, but it is a start.

That's so awesome! I've got a dog/house sitting job next month and I really hope it goes well. Can you please keep us updated? I'd love to hear about your experiences with dog sitting!

Thank you @seedling I am hoping for mine to do that too. Just having some cash to be able to go out with friends, or buy me something every once in a while will be nice. Plus I will be trying to save a bit back.

@Solara Thank you and congrats to you as well! I am sure I will :). I use to dog/house sit for my pastors back in my hometown and my youth pastor and they paid me for it. I loved it. It's flexible hours doing something I love. It will also give me experience with different dogs which I know will be invaluable in dog training.

That sounds great. Animals walking is a good idea about how to start to heal. I volunteered for many years, one thing I did was walking dogs and it did help me heal connecting with things a little bit again.

@Maze thank you. Yeah I've been volunteering at the humane society since October, and then training my service dog. Dogs are so healing for me. Thats why I am exploring a career in them!
