Hey Prime-no, It's been a month since Christmas. Did the first package ever turn up? It was not returned to me. LOL, should I tell you what you DID'T get? :p

Santa Cucezuf

Hello. And no, the package never turned up. Did you tick that you wanted it returned to you in case it could not be delivered? On our labels here (international package) we have to tick to either have it returned (additional package costs) or not (in that case, as far as I know, packages are sold in a live auction, as they do (here at least) with luggage that has not been picked up at airports).

I really appreciate your kindness. I know (not just in my head) you mean well. To be honest though, I'd prefer not to know what you sent the first time round. All I've done in therapy over the last months was verify what happened in my life; most of those things were either losses or "could not have hads anyway". I have been in a bad state lately and I think I would hurt more if I knew what you sent because it means yet more loss. To me, that package is far more than "things", and I am very sad it has never made it here. I hope you'll understand and that you know I have no intention of disappointing you by saying this.

Thank you for caring.

I don't recall there being an option of having it returned. Here in the States, I think it automatically is returned if undeliverable. Come to think of it, I sent something to Canada a year or more ago that was returned because I wrote a wrong address number. It couldn't be delivered and was sent back to the States.

I think I truly understand what you say about preferring not to hear what you did not receive. That it would be seen as a loss. I will tell you my thoughts on the whole episode and hope that it helps you see another way to look at it.

I was very upset initially at the package not making it's way to you. Frankly, once you received the second package, I was able to let go of the fact that the original package was not received. I look at is as the "other" cup analogy. I hope you can see the cup as half full because you DID receive the second package. Not half empty because one didn't arrive.

The other thing I have gained, and I sense you have too, is the friendship we have from this exchange. Look at how many exchanges here in this thread! Although we had to stay anonymous, I have very much enjoyed the messages back and forth. Thanks for responding to my question. Gotta admit, I did hope you received it late.

Well, maybe it will still be returned to you, who knows? There was a letter posted some time around WW II that was delivered decades later :)

I was very upset initially
once you received the second package, I was able to let go of the fact that the original package was not received.

I was getting upset only later, after Christmas, because it's really common for overseas parcels to take a much longer time than they officially state in their brochures, etc. When you sent the second package I was a bit frozen, as in didn't dare hope a lot, because I couldn't afford (emotionally) another one lost. Well, it wasn't. :)

I think I do understand what you're saying about the "other cup analogy". To me, it's different from what it is like for you. It's also an other cup, but I can not forget the first (because they are two seperate ones). I know this may seem odd, but it's how I perceive things. But: this does not at all mean that I did not view this second parcel as positive! So, to me, those two cups cannot be merged into one image. The first cup is empty and the second full (not just half full). :) I guess it's a different way to look at it.

So, rest assured, seriously and honestly, that I am very happy for that second package! I'm totally fine the way things are, other than I would have wished for the first package to show up just anywhere so we know what happened to it (because I hate you having lost the money and effort you put into it)! I am sure I would have loved it. It meant a lot to me that you sent another one, despite the extra work and costs! :)

You are right about having gained the friendship from the exchange! I have enjoyed the messages very much, too, and I'm glad that it's even possible to be in touch anonymously now! :)

Gotta admit, I did hope you received it late.

Thank you. The greatest gift in this is that you care. Honestly.

Thank you for your response. I really appreciate your sharing of how you feel about all of this. It really means a lot to me that you can share that.

I feel that I DO get that when I make suggestions, or explain what works for me, that it is just that. What works for me. Yes, I can hope that what works for me will help someone else but that I have no right to, and would not, project that on any one else as an expectation. We all experience things differently and that's what makes us unique. PTSD can be "The Great Equalizer" as some experiences and feelings and reactions can be amazingly similar. yet so many other things influence us all.

Thanks again for your thoughts, I do appreciate all that you have shared.

Ditto. Still having trouble with the latter one, though.

I'm only just learning that besides "being" PTSD, I'm also human. That may sound silly, but it's a new experience on some level and it has amazed me lately that quite a fair share of what I thought was PTSD, I now think is just basically human.

Keep well, Cucezuf Kringle. I hope you'll continue to enjoy the gift exchange, this year, if you decide to participate again.

To my friend Prime-no:

Have you ever heard the expression that Christmas should be not just one day a year? Well, it won't just be one day for you THIS year.

ARE YOU SITTING DOWN? I come home from work today to find a box in my mailbox in front of my house. It would be better stated to say I found THE box in my mailbox. Yup, the one I sent in November, the FIRST package found it's way back to me.

CHRISTMAS LIVES!!

THE SECRET KRIS KRINGLE GIFT EXCHANGE IS STILL ALIVE!!!!

001.webp

The address has a line through it. there is a sticker that says "Von zolilamtlichter Behandlung befreit Deutsche Post NL IP B Frankfurt-Flughafen"

Another that says "Deutsche Post, Zuruck/Retour" and a series of boxes that could be checked, with "Nicht abgeholt" then a box checked followed by "non reclame" and something hand written like "Fle 28 lh" maybe.

Also a DHL sticker "Es erfolget ein zweiter Zustellversuch am nachsten Werktag"

Get ready Prime-no, once I hear back from you and validate the address from Nicolette's original PC with your address, THIS IS COMING BACK TO YOU!!!!!

(((((HUGS)))))

HOLY SMOKES!!! WOW!!! Thank goodness I'm sitting down!!!!!!!!

I was just checking Watched Threads and there it raid you had replied and of all things I certainly didn't expect this!!!!!!

CHRISTMAS LIVES! I AM AMAZED!!!!

The address has a line through it.

They usually do this when there's something wrong with it and will return it.

"Von zolilamtlichter Behandlung befreit Deutsche Post NL IP B Frankfurt-Flughafen"

So, this means that it went through customs without having had to be opened. Basically it.

"Nicht abgeholt" then a box checked followed by "non reclame"

This really makes me angry at the German Post! They are saying it wasn't picked up! Well, first of all, I never got a notification card! Secondly, I did ask at the post office at some stage but since one cannot tell when it would have been stored there, you can only go so many times and hope you've chosen the right time. Mail (parcels, registered letters) are stored for a maximum of one week, then returned without further notice).

It has happened increasingly that notification cards have not been distributed to the recipient! I have been living in this house only since November and even here it has happened twice: once to a neighbor who talked to me about it when he picked a parcel up from me and once to me. In my last apartment, where I lived for a year and a half it happened twice to me.

"Es erfolget ein zweiter Zustellversuch am nachsten Werktag"

So, what they usually do (if they do this at all!) is try a second time to deliver the parcel (am nächsten Werktag: next workday (here that would be Monday through Saturday)), and then, if they don't get it delivered, leave a notification card. Seriously, I have never had DHL try a second time. I have always (DHL only) received a notification card (or not) after the first time.

What the handwritten note might mean, I do not know. "Fle" does not mean anything to me, nor does "lh". Sorry.

If you need a written statement from me confirming what I just said (never received a notification card and never was informed about the package being delivered a second time), let me know. :)

WOW!!!! I'm amazed!!! I just got up and will probably check again in an hour if this really has happened, lol!

THANK YOU for all the efforts, sincerely.

Oh, and, I still got the Joy to the World card up (and it will stay where it is) so this really is "especially to me" :)

Thank you!

((((HUGS)))))

Just looked at the sticker (didn't realize it is that sticker). That would be "Jle" (that's how we do the capital J here in normal handwriting), then that's a date: 28/11 (we write "one" a little bit like US folks write the seven, i.e. not just a straight line but rather like halfway up and then all the way down, if I'm making myself clear). "Jle" might well be the signature in short of the delivery guy.

I also just thought what could have happened is I got a notification card and picked up a parcel (from another sender). They usually have the packages etc. stored in a separate room; especially around Christmas time, because there are so many, the room will not be big enough so lots of parcels etc. will be standing around in the hall (no access though). So, I might have gotten a notification (on them they never state any information as to who it is from or what it is; they will just state "1 package" or "1 registered letter") but have actually received more than one parcel and they may have gone looking for one and once they found one, stopped looking.

I asked about an additional package twice, which is when they went and checked all packages for another one, but didn't find another one, i.e. none from you.

Another thing, which I don't really think has a relevance but you never know: There is another street with the exact same street name as mine. It is about 2 km away from mine and one time I had a delivery service ring me from the wrong one asking where I was! So, just in case they had trouble with the postal code, this might have been an issue.

One way or another, if I am home when the kringleish package finds its way here, I'll ask the DHL guy if I can take a picture with him, me and the package. ;)

Awesome to hear from you! Frankly, I am feeling some of the same exciement I felt before Christmas as I geared up for the gift exchange. Selecting gifts, shipping and waited in anticipation to hear that packages arrived. I think I mentioned, 6 total. 7 if I count you twice, LOL

I will not be able to ship until Tuesday, due to my work schedule and needing to get out and getting a new box. No worries about why it was returned to me. I am just so happy to be able to get it back to you. I know there will be less room for error because we don't have to deal with the Christmas rush this time.

This package HAS to get sent back to you. It has YOUR name on it. It belongs to you! If I don't send it then YOUR stuff is in MY house! :roflmao: We can't have that!

Keep looking here for communication about Kris Kringle, Phase II. :)

I am feeling some of the same exciement I felt before Christmas

Ditto! From the receiving end in this case! :)

You had six (and a half) Kringles??? WOW!!! That sure makes up for a lot of excitement!!!

getting a new box

Thank goodness!!! I thought I had to wait till Christmas this year because it says on the box "Do not open until Christmas!" (Nooooo, don't even think about it! ;))

This package HAS to get sent back to you.

I really do appreciate it! Take your time mailing it, no hurry!

I'll stay tuned. You, too, once shipped! :)

What a good start into the week - happily anticipating. :)
