Let's Be Workout Freaks Together

Do you mind if I join? Anybody else a runner? I used to run 3 miles every morning, but I stopped about six weeks ago. I am only running about once a week now because I have been struggling to find the energy. I know I would feel better if I could just get myself to get up and do it.
 
If I workout a fraction of the time I think about working out, I would be a world class athlete!! I try and make sure my kids workout though and my wife just started yoga, It makes me feel a bit good that I push them to take care of themselves, but thats not the point, I need to get off the couch!
 
Damit... guess I've fallen off the wagon already. I mean, I do quite a lot of walking as part of my daily routine - 20 minutes to and from the train each day, plus a good 45 minute walk at lunchtime today, so walking and moving in general isn't an issue. But I need/want to do the cardio stuff, to really get fit, and toned, and strong... somehow I feel as though my mind can only be fit, and toned, and strong, if my body can be. Guess that's why both are an absolute hopeless mess right now.

Of course the day isn't over, I could go and get on the treadmill or the rowing machine now that I'm home, but... I won't, somehow I know it.

I to have fallen off the wagon, just not feeling the love for it i feel achey and my buttock muscles are sore think i have injured myself. I will try later on see how i feel, hate being fat and unfit long for that energy and want to get out there.

Burke i use to run alot, but its very adhoc at the moment and the weight gain and deconditioning has really took effect. 5 miles use to be my base fitness now its more like a mile anything more yikes :(.
 
Okay my goal is 30 minutes on the exercise bike... tomorrow.

C'mon guys and girls *does little jumps while putting on her most cheezy smile* get your attitude off the sofa, the rest will follow! ;)

I already worked out for an hour today - that's the third day in a row - no stretching, just wasting calories. I'm trying to get sore muscles; my last two rounds of training didn't give me any so I felt like I hadn't done enough. I'll probably regret it by tomorrow, but hey, sore muscles get better with workout, so more motivation for me, yeah.

Welcome :) I'm the perfect opposite of a runner, I guess. I don't mind long brisk walks, but somehow, as soon as walking becomes running, my body starts to whine, especially my lungs.
 
Gosh, you guys put me to shame in a huge way. What impressive results these are!

Yeah, I probably do the self-fulfilling prophecy all right, that's a fair call. Think that applies to more than just exercising too...

It is hard when I'm at work all day, sitting on my backside in an office for the most part, though of course it's also easy to use this as an excuse. Guess it doesn't help that I'm now home from work and sitting in front of the computer...
