Hope you feel better soon freakofnurture...

fortunate to have had a brisk 45 minutes in the pool, water exercise w/ a floatation belt.

It was great, mixing it up w/ leap steps, backward fly stokes, crawl, long driving steps. Water felt awesome. Ate 2 hard boiled eggs pre, and one post. Plus coffee this AM. I am feeling a bit fat, and need to work off some of this lazy flab. :ninja:

Get well soon freaknature. I'm still on roll at moment 4 mile run yesterday, 20 min circuit and then some weights. Today 6 mile walk and 3.5 mile run. I'm getting into Swing but more now but need lose flab.

Press ups kill me, too. The only two tricks I know to make them a bit easier are 1. to spread the arms a bit farther apart and 2. put your hands against a window ledge instead of on the floor so your have to move less weight. Also it's helpful to do lots of planks (ke push ups but you lean on your elbows and hold position), and to do the climber (like push ups, arms slightly bent, pull one knee to your chest and stretch out again), so your torso grows stronger.

Listen to Metallica whilst pushing up. Grrrr. That an a photo of a hated one on the floor . Dang, you can fly.

Also doing 12 at a time,, but a lot of times through the day. Before you know it, you have done 100!!

Good idea; breaking up a hundred pull-ups into sets of 10 or 12, and paced throughout the day.

It's kinda amazing, when you can de-pump, and get past the initial "flash pump", then pace the activity, how much of a workout can then be accomplished. The kind of stuff that could (or might) gradually change a person's body type (for the better) with muscle tone.

Regarding pull-ups (utilizing new school thinking) is to try them combined with another type of move. FWIW "pull ups" are often called a "little person's move". And (typically) a dead lift (or similar) is called a "big person's move".
The idea, for optimum strength development, is to combine the two types, into one move. :alien:

Lol, yeah, that should work great!

To transform this thread into my little whine-o-torium for a moment: I have to make an appointment for a gastroscopy tomorrow. I still can't eat and I'm in pain. Thank you all for your wellwishings. Now wish some more, pleeeease *cries* Okay, moment's over.

(((((((((FREAK))))))))

Hopefully you will be OK! Do you have glutance intolerance? Hopefully it is "just" something of the nature. I have that and it made me so uncomfortable for many years till I finally had to do it and remove all gluten from anything I used. They are not sure yet if I have celiac or Gluten Intolerance...however, I am being safe.

A lof ot people are today because the grains are not pure anymore. There is human DNA in almost all corn now. Wheat is not pure. Even oats are messed up. Brown organic rice seems to be pure......that is about it!!

Anyway, BE WELL! We love your energy and your wisdom. :)

Interestingly enough, I just mentioned this very thing in my status for this morning. My excersize routine has been interupted by weather and depression. As soon as I stop excersizing the physical aspects of my PTSD come forward and rear their ugly head. Back pain, hip pain, joint pain.

My excersize of choice is walking for it's low impact and high results. I've had a regular routine since June, this year. I've lost 15 lbs and 2 pant sizes.

My husband and I are trying to get back into our winter routine, where we go to the mall early in the morning and walk there. It's a great alternative if you live in an area where the weather might interfere with your efforts.

Well, I already feel more motivated and I hope you are, too! Happy excersizing everyone. :D

Hope things get sorted soon freak of nature. Keep us posted.

I am still on some kind of manic exercise mission, like a lunatic wondering when the burn out will come. Exercise is the best medicine though and also the best distraction if you can just get into the zone.
