Liquid magnesium

Word to the wise....

It’s best to ramp up your magnesium intake (another reason for liquid supplements) as taking too much magnesium will rev up your system like crazy!

I took too much and had insomnia. Now I’m tapering up my dose and doing a lot better. I started at 12.5% RDA and Now I’m up to 25% RDA. I’ll get to 100% within the next few weeks I hope!

I haven't tried the liquid stuff but I take a 400 mg capsule on nights I can sleep or in place of Xanax sometimes. It works well.

Maybe this is the same thing you guys are talking about but I have used something called "Natural Calm". It has been helpful to me in the past and does bring some amount of relaxation. It works..thanks for reminding me. You mix it with hot water and drink allowing you absorb it quickly. It's worth the $20 imo. I have a 1/4 bottle left in my pantry, maybe I'll try a glass now to help with sleep.

I saw that stuff in the vitamin store the other day. Both of our vitamin worlds are closing so I’ve been scooping up cheap supplements as the sales change.

The stuff I use is already in liquid form, no mixing.

I’m glad it works for you!

I’m still at about 25% RDA of magnesium. I tried increasing it but my sleep got worse so I had to back down. So impatient as I know the higher levels really help!

Yeah @EveHarrington vitamins get really expensive really fast (for me anyway). I just take a costco multivitamin the size of a peach pit and D as my blood work always shows d as being depleted.

Thanks for letting me know about the possible sleep issues with magnesium, didn't know...maybe I'll wait for tomorrow to take mine.

It’s kind of a double edged sword from my research and experience. Magnesium can really help with sleep and anxiety, but if we are significantly depleted, shocking your system with too much magnesium can rev up your system too much and cause insomnia.

I’m not sure if its the magnesium ore not, but I’m also less hungry through out the day.

Tonight I was out in public and it hit me that I’m not as sensitive to sound.

Huh.

I wonder...

Its true i read magnesium helps with sound sensitivity. I too have hyperacusis plus misophonia. Super triggered by certain sounds.

I take liquid magnesium biglycinaate about 300mg per swig.

Magnesium acts as a relaxant for spooked out neurons

Eve, I just received my trace minerals ionic magnesium. I was having bad flashback and put some under my tongue. WOW! That stuff tastes nasty! I'm not sure if the magnesium itself helped, but the shock of that taste knocked me right out of the flashback, ha, ha! An unexpected benefit.
