I have been cycling back and forth to work.

It's been way too hot to do much more outside until the humidity breaks. Cycling has been really fun - it's only about 15kms all tolled there and back. I take a shorter route to work and then take the scenic route home at the end of the day.

Inside workouts have been mostly Krav and some treadmill runs. A slight back tweak during a lift in Krav and I backed off a bit on the intensity. The treadmill runs help me to focus on keeping my core engaged the whole time which will help my back. My sports Dr. told me back problems are common in runners because of the posture in running. So focusing more on my running technique has been a nice side effect from the heat.

I am playing with speed while on the treadmill and have been having fun with that too.

It's called Fartlek and I believe it's a Swedish word meaning 'speedplay'. You run at your normal pace and then for a specific distance or length of time you run at your max anaerobic (fastest) pace. Repeat. So far my treadmill is holding up well thankfully!

Looking forward to some lake swimming with Hank when the water is safe again (we have ecoli alerts in our large lakes).

Monday and Tuesday: 30 min Yoga
Wednesday: 30 min Yoga and 55 min run + 2 1/2 hours window cleaning (does that count?)
Today: 6 1/2 hours window cleaning (if it counts...up the ladder, down the ladder...:wacky: )
 
It's been a heat wave here so not as much outside running or exercising in places with no a/c. The heat hasn't bothered me so much until the past few years.

Mostly krav and some really goo weight lifting sessions. I switched my routine up a bit to see how much of a difference I noticed. I am really enjoying it plus I can do it at home in my makeshift gym while Hank snoozes or watches whatever movie I put on in the background.

My clothes fit a bit differently - I had to buy a blouse for a friend's wedding and trying them on in the fitting room I felt a bit like the Incredible Hulk about to split outa my clothes. And then I tired on a pair of jeans and could barely get my calf through it - what's with everything being so tight on the legs - don't they know women actually can have muscle!!

Tonight I am meeting a friend for a 10k and then dinner afterwards. The sky is clouding up and we might get our first real break in the heat if the rain comes and doesn't turn the streets into a sauna!

You all are such an inspiration to me to keep at it.
