In the past with non PTSD relationships, I was always so cut and dried with my decision to end things with someone and rarely looked back. There was 1 college boyfriend who I rekindled things with for a handful of months before ending it for good, but it was nowhere near the extended postmortem I've been engaged in with my sufferer who I've been off and on with (mostly off) for a couple of years now. I wonder if any of this has to do with PTSD and ending the relationship due to the disease (and in the case of my relationship, his lack of getting help for it) rather than the usual logistical, falling out love, etc. reasons relationships often end. Has anyone else in a PTSD relationship had a longer-than-usual breakup process with their partner?
