Has anyone had experiences with lucid dreams? I have been having dreams that in a weird way I control. Im dreaming but directing or controlling the dream. It’s really weird.
A little bit. I used to enjoy them. Then they became nightmares. Now I’m cautious when they happen. They are most likely to happen in the hour before I wake up.
Yep. I use it to my advantage when I can, to wake myself up from dreams that I don’t want to have. I started doing it as a kid, for the same reason, not realising it was a thing!
I don’t work at it, so I’ll probably never have the kind of control that would make it fun. I just use it to wake myself up.
Had those during my high school years. But then my sleep was more shallow, full of sleep paralysis. It was ... weird. Some people train for years to have lucid dreams - I guess it depends what you are dreaming about.
sorta. i started therapy with epic, sleep deprivation levels of nightmares. i kept a dream journal during the early years of therapy. the dream journal heightened my conscious awareness of my dreams considerable. as my recovery progressed, i began to find ways to change the outcomes of my nightmares to achieve a happier ending.
dunno if that qualifies as lucid dreaming, but i thought i'd throw it out there.
