I want to thank everyone on here, the forum itself and of course Anthony. This year has gone fast, but I have faced up to alot when it comes to my trauma's this year. I would not have been able to do it, nor attempted to do it without this forum. No need for any affirmations, I know how far I have come and I am darn proud of me to be honest. This has been the most learning year I have ever had in my life. Thanks again to ALL......Theresa aka Port:Hug_emoticon:

Congratulations! I remember seeing you join not long after I did, seems like not so long ago!

Hey Port! Herc here! We decided to try and get our act together---together and wonder of wonders----we are both still here and aparently better for it.

Congrats on the 1st year May we both survive the 2nd

Congratulations to both you and herc for being here for a year. I'm pleased that you both feel that you have benefitted from being here. I just wondered (as a relatively new member), exactly how this forum has helped you.

I just want to clarify that in no way am I suggesting that this forum doesn't help, I'm just interested in your opinions.

Thanks

Cherry

CherryB, you asked....First off its great exposure on safe grounds. You are exposed to triggers and yet safe as your "on a forum" its like practicing for triggers that happen in real life.

You can feel free and safe to discuss things that you certainly would not discuss to people in your everyday life, meaning friends and aquaintances. I mean I am not prepared to tell friends things that I suffer due to PTSD as they are misunderstood. I mean if you get scared and pee your pants your not going to vent and discuss it with your neighbor, however there are others like you that have also been so scared they peed their pants on here. So, its common ground and it is a place to reaffirm you are normal, normal for having PTSD that is.

What average civilians may consider nothing is a big feat to me and you are with people on this forum that understand that baby steps can be monumentous.

I guess its a place to come when your lonely and having a pitty party and find compassion and also a swift kick at times to set you back onto the road of recovery. Somehow it all works out on here and I feel blessed that I happened upon this site. Any more questions fell free, I am pretty much an open book these days? And WELCOME, hope your able to utilize the site to the best and gain the benefits. Again, Welcome.....T.:occasion:

Hey Herc, thanks, we almost began our journey on the same day, that is pretty neat.

Thanks everyone.

Thanks Port.

Thanks for answering my question. I totally understand being able to share things here that you could not or would not want to share with your friends.

I also get the baby steps part, I don't think anyone who didn't have knowledge of PTSD would understand how 'big' those baby steps are.

Thank you for answering, also thank you for the welcome. I'm trying to use this site for the benefits - of which there are many. I believe I am already beginning to move forwards, thanks to this site- so thanks anthony, for this site, and thanks to everyone who contributes to make this place so helpfull
