CherryB, you asked....First off its great exposure on safe grounds. You are exposed to triggers and yet safe as your "on a forum" its like practicing for triggers that happen in real life.
You can feel free and safe to discuss things that you certainly would not discuss to people in your everyday life, meaning friends and aquaintances. I mean I am not prepared to tell friends things that I suffer due to PTSD as they are misunderstood. I mean if you get scared and pee your pants your not going to vent and discuss it with your neighbor, however there are others like you that have also been so scared they peed their pants on here. So, its common ground and it is a place to reaffirm you are normal, normal for having PTSD that is.
What average civilians may consider nothing is a big feat to me and you are with people on this forum that understand that baby steps can be monumentous.
I guess its a place to come when your lonely and having a pitty party and find compassion and also a swift kick at times to set you back onto the road of recovery. Somehow it all works out on here and I feel blessed that I happened upon this site. Any more questions fell free, I am pretty much an open book these days? And WELCOME, hope your able to utilize the site to the best and gain the benefits. Again, Welcome.....T.:occasion:
