Me vs. Icy Steps (And I Lost)

Poor Yumeko- eiy, ouch, I can sympathize. Hope you're feeling less sore today.

I live in Canada (..The 'Great White North"), lots of ice and snow.
When I wipe out (or nearly do), I think "6 out of 6 from the American Judge", lol. Not exactly as "graceful" as skating though.

Then somebody says, "Are you hurt??" I say, "Only my pride.."

It's too bad that happened to you, but it sounds like you're taking it in stride very well (laughing about it is always good :). I have had a bad back for most of my adult life and find that lying on the floor and crossing my bent legs helps relieve pressure, and, if it's not too sore, draping yourself over one of those blowup excercise balls is good. Heat and ice, always good, the rest I think you have to go with how your back feels, what it can take at the time.

Hope you're feeling better soon!!

Ouch, ouch ouch. Poor thing. I've done that a time or two as well.

When your b/f asks if there is anything he can do for you, you can always ask him to "kiss it better" (he he he).

Happy healing!

Progress report, yay.

My back is feeling better (as long as I don't try to stretch it out). That one spot is still a little tender when I touch it. My arm has a little bruise on it and that is still a little tender as well.

My right hip is giving me trouble though. If I sit wrong (like in a car) or move in a weird way it definitely hurts. Still just that back part of it that hurts. Odd. I don't even remember if I hit it, but then again, my back was definitely the focal point of my pain when I fell >_<

I can get through the day without taking ibuprofen, and, well, besides the hip, I think I'm doing just peachy.

My boyfriend is an idiot. O_O

He was trying to be cute last night and grab my leg and put it in his lap, as he sometimes does. Normally I'm flexible enough for that, but it was my right leg he grabbed (my right hip is the one bugging me), and when he yanked it into his lap, ohhh, the paaain. I hollered and yelled at him to let go, and I took it away, and the moment I was able to get off the couch I went and took three ibuprofen.

The rest of the evening my leg and foot felt numb and my leg felt out of place, and I swore it felt a little twisted to the right. By the time I went to sleep the numbness was mostly gone, but I can't say I slept too well. Now that it's the next day there is no numbness and my leg doesn't feel quite so out of place, but the joint is still kinda sore and now I have a tiny tiny limp because my right buttcheek hurts.

So, um, yeah, he may have dislocated my hip. And yet walking itself doesn't hurt. My doctor's appointment is in an hour so I'll see then what the doc says the damage is from my b/f trying to be cute :stupid:

Ok, long story short:

--Doc says I did NOT dislocate my hip, but that my dear b/f may have ripped something when he did his little stunt.
--Also says I "may" have broken my tailbone during the fall.
--Got Vicodin!!
--Got x-rays of my lower back, sacrum, and tailbone. I should have the results sometime tomorrow.

The good news: nothing is broken or dislocated. But given the fact that my tailbone still hurts from the doc touching it during the exam, I can at least say I bruised that up pretty good. She also said if I'm still hurting later, she wants me to go into physical therapy. Whee.

And I had a shift at work last night. I didn't take any Vicodin for it because I didn't want to chance falling asleep during the shift. I took some before I went to bed and it didn't seem to make me too tired (ok, a little bit), just "happy." Then again, it is a different strength from what I was given back when I had pleurisy. I think I'll go ahead and take some before I go in today. Doesn't help a lot with my hip (that I've noticed so far), but hey, anything to make my tailbone feel better!
