Medical Advice Needed

Thank you very much for your information and especially for the things to look out for. My dad told me that there is some blood getting through as it seems to have rerouted itself around the blockage (peripheral circulation???) so he didn't understand why it wasn't possible to either cut out or bypass the section that is calcified. I'm not medically minded at all really (in case you couldn't tell lol) but I would still assume that there must be something they can do. Only time will tell. I would like to have a worst case scenario... I think... yes I would. So... if any of the things happened that you mention above which would require him to go to the ER, what would be the worst outcome if he did not get there? How long might he have (if it is possible to estimate that which I realise it may not be) to get to the ER? 5 minutes? 5 Hours? A day? Obviously I don't want to worry but I would rather know what we are dealing with here.

Those with a complete occlusion go to the operating room emergently in order to restore blood flow. Sometimes people come in with some of those symptoms but yet it is determined that there is some circulation by using a doppler to evaluate flow both on the top of the foot (DP pulse for dorsalis pedis) and at the back of the foot (posterior tibial) Bottom line, if a doubt, get it evaluated ASAP.

Hey, if you have any other detailed questions, feel free to PM me. I am not a Doctor but maybe I can help explain things so you understand and worry less
