Meds Making Me See Spots

Last semester when I went on meds for the first time, I started to increasingly see floating dots, usually when under bright lights (especially in classes, for instance), but not always. They only bothered me because I often couldn't tell if they were real and would swat in front of my face, but there was nothing there. Just spots like gnats floating over my vision. If I looked at one directly it would immediately drift away.

I brought this up to my psychiatrist, and he said that it is normal to see little dots as eyes mature, though admittedly not at my age. He explained that we all have these tiny little black specks in our eyes that we will notice as we age.

But I was off of my meds for about five months and the spots stopped. After about a month I noticed they were just gone.

Now I am back on my meds and seeing spots again. It's really annoying but I'm not sure it's a problem? It doesn't necessarily inhibit my functioning, but it sort of disturbs me because I think I'm hallucinating them.

Should I approach my doctor about this just because it makes me uncomfortable if the meds otherwise seem to have no side effects and work to keep my emotions more steady? I know this seems small but it bothers me.
