New Here
hello,so yesterday night I was on this chakra app and I was trying to "balance" and "open" my chakras to help PTSD and I ended up feeling horrible.i was messing around with my crown, third eye heart chakra and I'm feeling horrible.after I did it I was happy,a few minutes later I felt horrible I feel weak and I'm losing myself and I don't feel okay, how do you get rid of negative spirits and close your chakras and go back to normal? Please help

Hi jennell
I too have tried just about anything and everything to get better! Although I never did try this - but would have probably if I'd heard of it.
I went to a very amazing healer who specialises in tree essences - I think it's a form of plant spirit medicine.
Anyway he commented that my aura looked like a car window that someone had thrown a rock at - shattered. He gave me some tree essences to take and I feel so so much better.
Someone like that may be able to help!!

So... The kind of meditation used in that sort of thing brings on a dissociative state. That's the whole purpose of it. When you're already struggling with disassociation I would avoid meditation entirely, and those that are looking to invoke hypnotic or dissociative states like the plague.

I agree with Friday re the opening of chakras. Especially upper chakras. Many of us have problems grounding (that would be lower chakra work). Until you are solidly not leaving your body through dissociation, I would suggest you stay away from upper chakra work.

I also agree with @AnnaLost in that acupuncture is a great way for dealing with the opening of blockages of the chakras or meridians.

I discovered this thing called spiritual awakening and it seems like that's what's going on.can you help me on trying to stop it ?

@shimmerz , said my point. Working with your higher chakras can trigger dissociation (especially the crown chakra, that's your connection to a higher power). Without being fully present, connecting to a higher power can be confusing. Sometimes upper energy work/meditations make me nauseous too. Focusing on the lower chakras is good.

@Jennell , the issue with open chakras, depending on what belief system you come from, is not so much about negative spirits coming in, but more that your energy drains out of those if it's not evenly flowing through the rest of your body. Reiki can balance energy out. Acupuncture too. Shiatsu or tui na are both massage techniques that are energy focused (also they're commonly done with the client fully clothed).

I disagree with the idea that you cannot mediate when dissociated. In Buddhism, there's two general types of meditation: open field and closed field. The open field is the mindfulness therapists use when you're dissociating or having a flashback and they're telling you to notice what's in the room. A prompt associated with it might be, "Take a moment to see what you notice." I find the open field impossible when I am dissociating. Working with the closed field aka samadhi is meditating with a point of focus, such as your breath. A prompt might be "Notice your breath in your body, maybe in your shoulders, chest, or belly. If you find yourself getting distracted by thoughts or feelings, come back to the breath." I find that technique very grounding. Sitting still in general is very grounding for me.

can you help me on trying to stop it ?
Not certain that you can stop it. You can, however, focus it into something less chaotic than when it is unmanaged. These are just my opinions, not god's honest truth.

I have learned through shamanism, acupuncture and the meridians, chakra work, etc how to better handle my energy. I agree with Biz that much of our energy drains and it is that drainage that needs to be controlled. I like her ideas of different types of healing that can be done - but with one large caution. Make sure your healers know about trauma. I went to an acupuncturist one time who knew SFA about trauma and it almost destroyed me.

Much of my healing has come down to a spiritual journey. Trauma, for me, has affected my body, heart, mind and soul. Each of these pieces needed to be addressed.

The comments about meditation really surprised me, but as others mentioned I guess it depends on the kind of meditation you do. I'm all for grounding, getting into present reality and nature. Just basic mindfulness.
For me thinking about chakras etc is too spacey - I need always to try to get my two feet on the earth. I think that's why the tree essence man helped because that's what I believe in - nature as the biggest healer.
Obviously it's different for everyone! The biggest thing I've learned on this rocky journey is that there is no real guide outside of me.
Listen to yourself and notice the things that help and the ones that don't.
If I was feeling as you do right now I would go out walking on the beach with bare feet. I'd hug a tree.
Anything to do with the natural world

Following what jojo said, any kind of grounding that seems right for you should work to bring your energy back down. The woman I get reiki from, who also counsels and teaches meditation, will have me visualize roots reaching in to the ground from my legs or tailbone. For the chakra piece, you could spend some time visualizing a lotus opening slowly at your root chakra.

Another she taught me is a Tibetan technique for grounding. On the inhale you think of using a hook or staff to gather your thoughts/mind energy and on the exhale bring that down to just below your belly button. Leave a bit of air on the exhale and tighten at your belly for 3-5 seconds... Repeat. (Not for like 20-30 minutes because it's an irregular/controlled breath pattern and you might get light-headed but 5-10 can be very stabilizing). This one is super soothing for my anxiety.

The other one which my judo/yoga/meditation teacher does it moving your energy back to your center. You can imagine your breath moving from your belly button to your chest on the inhale, and then down your spine and back to your belly button on the exhale.
