Try to slow everything down. Taste the food you're eating. Feel it in your mouth. The shower you're taking, feel the water on your skin. The music you're listening to, the changes in notes. The colors nearby you. Smell the air, note the temperature. Move your body on purpose. Touch your hand, the wall, your face. Big motions, stand up and stretch. Small motion, write a word. These things are all real. Make connections in the world. 10,000 connections.
Not feeling real is
super useful in an emergency. Your brain is doing this to protect you, because it thinks it's an emergency. You need to get your mind to get your brain to calm down. Avoid your imagination right now, and connect. Here, there, here, there. All 5 senses. Try to connect them to the world. It won't work well, at first, most likely. That's normal and okay. Keep doing it. Be here, now.
