Whats your favorite movie(s)? Mine are super troopers, spaceballs, Pirates of the Caribbean.

Used to love watching Saving Private Ryan, Platoon, etc but cant watch that stuff anymore. Hits too close to home and ball my eyes out, so no mas for me

In reverse preference...
Can't watch anything abut WWII. My dad had it bad in those years and he came back with a humongous case of what would now be called PTSD.
He was obsessed with anything related to that.

In general, I don't like warmovies unless they are comedies.

The Green Mile is always good. Pulp fiction, Lock Stock and two smoking barrels and erm... blush... lately I watch a lot of chickflicks. going all feminine at my old age whahahaha. It's an escapism and a good one at that.

I was made to watch that Dear John movie one time by my wife bad idea. I stick to history and discovery channels with the occasional news

Das Boot
All spaghetti westerns with Clint Eastwood
Reservoir Dogs
Pulp Fiction
Taking Chase

War movies are what they are. I will watch most once then move on. I know Anthony Swafford from Jarhead. (He wrote the book) My unit was camped about 1 mile from his. His book was spot on for what a lot of Marines did during shield/storm. I was lucky, I got to go on active patrols a lot and that reduced the time I spent sitting in a camp.

There is always a lack of info and just figuring things out as they happen. The movie was maybe 50% accurate. Still, a good story overall.

Documentaries are my big thing. I like to learn and I like to hear different views from my own. It helps me shape how I see things. It can even change my mind on some politics.

I watch films all the time, superman man of steel and monuments men have been pretty good for me this year. There's so many I have to watch and catch up with.

Das boot is brilliant, I still can't even imagine living it, and I too watch allot of documentaries. Genghis Kahn is a recent one, what a bloke.

Dutch, ain't nothing wrong with chick flicks. I admit, ive watched a few in my day and even liked em. Lol also had a pedicure, but it was amazing!!!

Hmmm...Godfather 1&2, Goodfellas, Raging Bull, Lock Stock, anything Scorcese, anything Tarantino. Oh and Sopranos.

If its gangster, I'm in. But I'm Italian.

I also love westerns and some of the old war movies like Strategic Air Command and such.

Yea I feel you, Dave.
I can't watch my old favorite war movies anymore either.
Ruins my night.

Heat. (Best Bank Robber shoot-out ever made imo lol)
The Godfather part 1.
Snatch.
Reservoir Dogs.
Red State.(Netflix)
The Departed.
Goodfellas.
Casino.
The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly.
For a few dollars more.

I was going to post this earlier, but had to run. So I see now some have been already named.

All I can think of off the top of my head. :)

Interesting. Never figured I wasn't the only one who had a hard time watching war movies.
Since my dad was OTT obsessed with anything WWII and we sat through tons of movies and were made to read books.
The man was opening that wound day by day and numbing himself at the same time with other means.

Thought it to be deviant a bit to avoid them as they are major triggers.
Oh yes, romcoms. Kinda embarrassing really but it's nice to see funny stuff where people are also nice to eachother.

Its kind of sick but I watch them to remember things. Not the combat as most movies don't come close to what combat is like. Its more the brotherhood. The feeling of being badassed. vicarious movie watching.

Dutch, ain't nothing wrong with chick flicks. I admit, ive watched a few in my day and even liked em. Lol also had a pedicure, but it was amazing!!!

I got my first pedicure in the USMC! With a bunch of the recon boys. I figured it was a prank... But nope. "You ever want anyone sucking on your toes ever again? Do this shit. Besides it feels good."

Standing weekly apt.
