is it possible to upgrade an I/Pad

I dont have iOS but you can upgrade them.

From a google search "how to upgrade iOS"

"Plug your device in to power and connect to the Internet with Wi-Fi. Tap Settings > General > Software Update. Tap Download and Install. If a message asks to temporarily remove apps because iOS needs more space for the update, tap Continue or Cancel.May 31, 2016"

You can also use chasms.com to walk through an OS (any OS, gaming consol, web browser, email client, tablet or phone etc) before you upgrade. Its a tool i use at work to walk people through things without being on it but its cool to use to get the feel of a new verison of something before you upgrade and/or buy it.

@Gadgie yes, you can update an iPad, but it depends on which one you have. With th new IOS 10 update, some of the older models won't support it, so Apple stopped doing updates for them.

Many thanks for that link LS, and She Cat, it looks a bit techy for me to do, and I don't have any one who can help me with it? ....Unless I ask that bloke who updated my desk top for me, he might be able to help me.

I used to think I could keep up with all this techy stuff, and managed on my computers, but these I/Pads are a different story?

9/7 is the release date of iOS 10. The latest is 9.3.3 which came out July 18, 2016.

Using chasms.com on iOS 9 (all should be the same) go to settings from home screen > general > about. If its 9.3.3 then you have the latest. If not then go to settings > general > update (which will tell you if you have an update or the latest so you could skip the 1st thing and just do this).

Yes, I've done that and it says 7.0.4 and when I click on "check for updates" it just scans for ages and nothing happens?

The one I have is an I/Pad Air.

The Windoze users could always replace Win7....errr...10 with a Linux OS.
It is 100% free and frankly EASIER to use.

Just a thought.

Linux isnt as popular and they have a windows-like verison. I guess its all the technically challenged and "bubbly liking" folks in the world that keep micosoft going.

I need to get into apple. I havent gotten an iphone cuz im cheap and want free apps. And smart to not get a virus. I want a rooted (jail broken) phone and this one is about to be upgrade with damn electrical tape on the charge cord and the horrible soldering for the charger port (whom did that poor job on the S5?) But yeah, once i upgrade this one is being rooted (in case i break it :p)
