My Meds Were Stolen!

My nephew stole prescriptions from my sister, which, of course, he denied and blamed on someone else. He has a big drug problem so she knew it was him.

It is a horrible situation you have been through, but wishing you had never been born is never a good thing. Be thankful that that is all they stole and that you weren't physically hurt. I would definitely request the locks be changed. I'm very happy that you are physically alright. It took me quite awhile to feel safe after I was stolen from, but I thank God that it was only my money they got and nothing else. My husband was held up at gun point for a dollar. We were blessed nothing worse happened and so are you.

Take care and quick healing! Hopefully the perpetrator will just plead guilty and accept an offer so that there won't be a trial for you to have to go through!

WOW, that is terrible Shelia. Most of the time I think I am being paranoid for locking my meds in small safe (guess not). I hope you are able to sort everything out with your bank quickly. Glad to know you are ok though. :)

I'm so sorry you lost your meds. Being burgled like that is such a personal intrusion, one of which I have experience.

Try and remember, you are safe. It may be a hassle but 'things and stuff' can be replaced. Replacing your piece of mind is more difficult. Take care.

I am so sorry this happened. I know it's hard to get replacements due to insurance issues. Plus if the Dr is not absolutely sure that they were stolen as opposed to someone over-using them.

I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place. The insurance company won't budge unless they have a police report number in order to give an order to replace my meds. AND the police say they don't make reports for med thefts, nor will they have a number. Yet! The other day a police officer told me they would have the report by Thursday at the earliest, but not for sure how long it would take.

I have maybe 2 days of the medicine left. I guess I should start to taper off it with half doses maybe, I just don't know what to do.

I did call my dr.'s office and ask them if they could do anything. He's not in today, but is due in tomorrow. They could not promise that he would be able to help, but said they would relay the message.

So here I sit, wondering what will be the outcome, worrying and praying and welcoming all your prayers, candles, well wishes and what ever else you are sending my way. Thanks for the cyber-hugs too!

How much are the drugs on a self pay basis? Maybe you can get a partial amount that way.

I don't know if these meds are something that your Dr. would have as samples. Or a similar one as samples short term.

Just trying to think of options, but you probably already thought of these.

Praying for you I am very concerned about your meds and the withdraw. You can go to the hospital if you at all are suffering they have to give you your meds and prescriptions if necessary

My phone is out of minutes, so I have no way of calling the dr. now. All these calls to the police, insurance company and doctor, etc. have eaten up some of them and then my new boyfriend worrying about me and being lonely besides and just wanting to talk has eaten up the rest of them!

I used a neighbor's line in with a city counscelman to see what he could do, because he is over the police department. He said that he would get me the report.

The drugstore took pity on me and replaced the meds for the usual price I pay (with my insurance covering most of it). YEAH!!!
