Bewif is dead right.... age makes a HUGE difference. What are problematic traits in older people are part of the exploration and growth process that underpins healthy neuroplastic development in children and young people.
If you are concerned that you're a narcissist, you probably aren't. The awareness of and ability to question ones own motives and put them in the context of empathic relationships with others is something narcissists have difficulty with...... so just asking the question is a signal of enough awareness to make the diagnosis unlikely.
True narcissists rarely appear in the therapy room of their own accord because pain and chaos that accompanies them through life is caused by others.
Don't confuse Narcissistic Personality Disorder with other uses of the word Narcissism.... even within the different branches of therapy words like narcissistic and schizoid have a variety of meanings.
