Hello everybody,

I am an Army vet, I served from 2002-06. Deployed from 2004-05 to Victory Base Complex in Baghdad. I was an intel guy but somehow got tasked to a PSD for a Major General. Got out of the Army in 06 and decided to go back as a PMC on and off from 06-09, doing the exact same job but paid a lot more money. Currently 70% disabled with PTSD. Symptoms didn't get really bad until I has home for a little while. Lost my job, my wife, my house, and everything I own because of my anger and self-medicating with alcohol.

Finally starting to get my life back in order, currently in the VA's Voc Rehab program and I can see a light at the end of the tunnel. Never had much luck with the meds the VA prescribed, or with individual counseling so I am hoping this website will be of some help. I look forward to sharing and learning with everybody else here!

Welcome Mdmx83.
Good to hear you are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel!

Welcome Mdmx - Yup the beast brings the worst out of us for sure.

Lost my job, my wife, my house, and everything I own because of my anger and self-medicating with alcohol.

I still had the job and the wife and the house and a whole bunch of worthless shit. In the end none of it and all the booze didn't get me a moment of true relief from the beast. Twenty plus years sober and anger on a hair trigger and still had no idea what was going on. If it was not for another VN Vet I'd still be clueless.

Stay in touch.
