Godfather03

New Here
whats good guys? my name is Darren, I served four years in the Marines (infantry),was honorably discharged as a corporal about a year ago. I was in Charlie company 1/6, I did two tours in Helmand Province. My first tour we pushed Garmsir in 2008 and my secound tour we pushed Marjah in 2010. I have a lot of problems with PTSD, constatly thinking of dead friends/near misses, depression, absolutely no desire to do a damn thing...Im just completely not the same as I used to be. It sucks...

Welcome, Darren, you've found the right place. Lotz of folks here who've been there, done that and got the t-shirt. Just jump in on any discussion and don't be shy.

Welcome neighbor. I served on the other side of the line in Kandahar Provence. Did 2 tours there in 2002 and 2007. Welcome out.

Is it bad that I dont know how to welcome someone to the site? i mean "Hi Welcome to the fold" just doesn`t do it but I don`t know what to say. "sorry your here godfather03"

thanks guys...and Zip, ive been to Kandahar as well bro, before we convoyed down to helmand to fight, I was at Kandahar Airfield (we called it KAF). i LOVE that base, haha the boardwalk is the best. The IDF gets annoying but thats about it.

Oh, and I was referring strictly to KAF, not the rest of Kandahar Province. Kandahar Provice is not a good place to be, as I'm sure you already know haha.

I actually got to spend a month on KAF. Odd place. Nothing like Panjiway. I got to go to Tim Hortons everyday for free. If you have enough bandages on, people buy you coffee.

Welcome Godfather3, GF3. Love those movies.
I wish I could say the more the merrier, but this is not a merry place at times, just a group of veterans both male and female from all over the world trying to survive with the beast. If we can help, just ask, or just read

thanks jimmy. i love gangster movies too, but the "03" in my name refers to the 03 MOS field in the Marines, 03 is the infantry designator in USMC MOS's.. and zip! hahahaha! i f*cking love tim hortons bro, after fighting in garmsir i spent a month there on my way home, and spent two weeks there after fighting in marjah, also on my way home. i love that place. the resteraunt right behind the boardwalk next to the duty free store was awesome, used to use the wifi there and drink non alcoholic beers with my friends hahaha

oh, and I am by no means beating my chest/bragging or anything like that at all, but my avatar is a picture taken by a reporter of me (im on the right) and my friends smith (left) and rood (center, in the back) under fire dragging our friend kruger out of a ditch after he had been shot. He lived and is fine now, but I just wanted to tell you guys that and show that I really have been in combat and that I am not "faking the funk" as some Marines nowadays do, claiming to be "combat" vets and that they have seen all this and done all that, but in reality they talk the talk but didnt walk the walk. Basically what im saying is I walked the walk, as Im sure you all did. I heard the term "walk the walk" from a vietnam combat vet, a friend of my dads, as a kid and i thought it fit the description of what combat vets did perfectly.
