(((( Meza)))), if you allow safe, gentle hugs. Sugar you have been through a lot in a short amount of time. It's no wonder you are on overload. Bless your heart.

Just so you know, your partner doing what he did, was not your fault. In fact, none of this stuff was your fault. Medical conditions follow mental and visa versa. You are not alone. I'm sorry about your father's illness. I know it's hard to lose someone you love. In fact it's hard to lose someone you don't like, let alone someone you love.

One thing I used to do was brush my other persons hair until they felt calm. I am virtually doing that to you just now. I too live on disability, so I can understand how difficult that is. I'm glad you have friends and family memories who are about you. You are in deed very blessed.

I'm glad you came here. Lots of good people here.Look around and read. You can learn a lot here. See you around the forum.

Meza, I have trouble concentrating when at the Library because of anxiety. My eyes go blurry and I get foggy. Before I know it, Kira alerts and tugs me toward the door and we're out in the fresh air and on our way home once again with no book or audio tape!

I joined Audible online and now always have an audio book at my fingertips. I let them run all night and most of the day to keep my mind quieter.

Good luck:)

I seem to be the type of person who becomes physically ill when traumatized or triggered.

No doubt Meza, given the history of how your abuse happened.

I guess I feel the need to let everyone know about my obstacles.

We all deserve to be heard without judgement or shame. We deserve to feel "normal" and not a label of our issues. Just having a voice is therapeutic.

As for overloading, we all need to handle how much we expose ourselves to other's stories to avoid additional stress and/of triggers. I myself can only read soo many threads about other's stories.

Share away...we all decide if we can handle reading or go play. (I'm a poet and surely know it!)

Hugs to you and hoping you have a Merry Christmas Meza! :) :) :)

Movin'On - I misunderstood the reasons why your eyes went blurry, good you clarified... I just put some money into my Paypal account so this is one way I could pay for Audible online and not have to worry about getting to the library. I know how anxiety can fog one's brain, I didn't realize it could also affect sight. Do so appreciate your reply.

Safenow - Thank you! for your gentle hugs and your comments. Just envisioning having my hair brushed by someone else is soothing.. what a lovely thing to do for someone you care about! I know from reading some posts that you too have gone through so much. Hugs to you as well.

Sailorgal - Thank you for your hugs and best wishes and your comments. Having a voice, you're right, is so important. Will need a bit of time to feel comfortable here.

I wish all of you a very, Merry Christmas!!!!!!!:)

I am a big animal lover and am so grateful for the comfort and support we can get from them. And just as important, the support we can give them. I don't want to push you, but there are a lot of animals out there that need homes. Perhaps it would help you, if you could help another animal?

I also recommend setting small goals. "Today, I will make my bed." or "I will call a friend". I agree with a previous commentor who suggested humor, and of course, counseling and seeing your psych.
