Amazing! This is a big deal. I hope you feel proud of how hard you’ve work on this and how much it has paid off. Did you have an internal backlash later? When I struggle to share something and then finally do manage to share it, I often find myself having a delayed reaction. A wave of shame and nausea and fear comes hours or days later. I sometimes feel the unbearable urge to call my therapist and apologize and beg her not to leave me. So illogical!!

Actually yes, I did. Immediately after & that’s when I sent the email & felt the need to explain myself better & express my fears that she might think or feel differently about me, although I don’t really think it was necessary. She was so understanding & accepting. She immediately reassured me it was all okay & she was glad I shared. So I haven’t allowed myself to feel bad about it since then. I get what you mean though, I always think “oh no, that was too much!” It isn’t logical but I guess it’s understandable why our brains tend to work that way. :)
