Not Able To Keep Basical Rutines

My main problem now is that I haven’t a daily rutine at all. I sleep during the day and I am awake at nights. Also I eat when I am hungry, whatever time it is. I have tried to create a basic daily rutine, it works for few days and then, I come back.
Any ideas that could help me? I basically believe I want to avoid daytime and its responsabilities

Avoidance is pretty powerful when we use it, but it doesn't help in the long run. So you set a routine, it works for a few days and then you slide back to the old way of doing things. Just stop. Plain and simple. Yes, it's hard to change habits, but all the advice in the world isn't going to do dick shit, unless you IMPLEMENT the plan and stick to it...

I live the same but attribute it to head injury, though I sleep during night too, just big circadian rhythm problems. I must say, got much worse after ptsd I think, can't be sure as everything is now a blur. Past 10 yrs just kind of blur. I have dropped out of daytime and the responsibilities that come with it. If I push myself, not that bad sometimes, but retreat to dark room asap.

You definitely need to make a routine and stick with it. Write it down and hang it up in a spot you will see every day, even a few spots. Like in the bathroom, and the kitchen, next to your favorite chair. That way it is always present in your life.
Try and find some mindfulness activities to keep you present and calm. (mediation is great too). If you can create a sense of calm, I think it would be easier to stick to a set routine.
I read in another thread, @joeylittle has posted this link, a guide to a wellness recovery plan. I have bookmarked it because I think it could be very invaluable to getting myself through each day and would like to start it myself. you might want to check it out:

Sorry, I forgot to mention I have circadian rhythm problems as well due my trauma. I lived in a meditation cult for more than 10 years. I had to follow a very stricted daily schedule: even I have to watch my thoughts constantly. I sleep aprox 4 hours night time and we have to be awake at 4 am for an hour meditation, cooking, clases, more meditation, and after a full time job. Its the first time I put this in words. It doesn't surprise me now why I hate schedules and meditation. Just Can't stick on any.

Sorry, I forgot to mention my big circadian rhythm problem due my trauma. Just find it imposible. This subject has upset me a lot in the pass, but now I need to find a gentle way to make the change for good.

@MariaY Thanks for adding that this is a trauma based issue. It's helpful when people include everything so we have the full picture. I still think that your best bet is to have a set schedule and stick to it. Maybe try waking up an hour or two earlier, and staying awake. Then every couple of weeks, wake up earlier. Do this slowly, as to not totally screw with your head.

Healthy coping skills will help also, be kind to yourself. This is doable, but you have to start the process somewhere, and then stick to it....

What I have started doing is keeping track of whatever habit I want to change. Whenever I go a set number of days with sticking or mostly sticking to it, I get some kind of reward. This system helped make it more automatic for me and keep me from being too hard on myself when I mess up.

Start slowly with little things. Doing too much all at once will lead to disaster IME.

I knooow...:). Since I started this thread it has been slowly better, but naturally. Force myself doesn't work at all, even with the best intentions

Would it help you to switch the meditation style into something more movements active, unlike what you were doing with that group?

Going on an assumption it is something you have been doing a long time and you might be getting into altered states zaps that are difficult to break all out of the sudden, so transforming them into different action with a different meaning first, before moving into removing them entirely?
