Not Very Good At Introductions

First off, not very good with introductions, but I'll give it my best shot.

Going off the points, Currently In Houston, Texas where I was born and raised. Served in 25th ID with 2-35 Infantry, deployed to Kunar, Afghanistan in 2011-2012. I ETS'd in OCT of 2012 and took me almost a year on the dot to come to terms with what I was dealing with and get the ball rolling to seek help. After lots of bumps and detours along the road to transition I finally committed to seeking help. I was diagnosed by the VA with PTSD among other things related (sleep, anxiety). I wasn't getting anywhere with the Vonapp process, besides a letter every few months that they are investigating, so I recently hooked up with a local VFW rep to handle my case. Still waiting on word after I sent all my information to him.

Sleep is the name of the game in my life, or lack of I should say. I landed a pretty decent job, very lucky on my part, after getting out but the lack of sleep almost had me losing it. I switched to night shift and found some peace for a short while until my schedule shifted and I began experiencing the issues during the day. I have it decently balanced now, with the help of some meds, but I am still battling my mind and what it throws at me on a daily basis.

Looking forward to helping and maybe even getting some help from you guys.

Thanks

Welcome Mastranios, lots of people here are ready and willing to support you and help you out. And I am sure there is someone that might need your help too.

Forgot to mention that I was in Kunar as well and know all too well about some of the shit you might have went through out there.

Where at Scout? Was at COP Penich and did a few rotations to Nangalam (Blessing)

I was at Korengal Outpost, or KOP. I got to go to Jalalabad every once in a while but not a lot. My happiest time on that deployment was Bagram and the tiny bit of time I spent there. Other than that it was a nightmare I still live to this day.

Bagram was one of the worst places to be in the respect of to many chiefs and not enough indians ( sorry sarg lol ) the only good thing was the trip down Disney to the air head and the burger king / subway and pizza hut ( when they had cheese for there pizzas ) DFACS were crap apart from one that i can remember.
To many civies walking around with cell phones unescorted.

Welcome Mastrianos. I is an Aggie. Hope you can find some help here.

Welcome to our, getting larger by the day, largely dysfunctional family. Check out the Link Removed, they have really helped me and probably everyone else on here.

Feel free to ask anything you want, well just about anything.

Welcome Mastranios, Old Nam Fart here. Many folks from the sand-box here you can lean on for some advice.

Looks as if you got on the right track early on - thats GOOD. The beast does not like being recognized early. It just likes to linger for a decade or two and turn your whole life upside down until it makes you cry UNCLE. Lots of good reading so get started.

BTW - GOOD INTRO (to spite what you think)
