NW 'Burbs Of Chicago, Anyone?

:smile: Hi everyone! I found an old thread for Chicago, but it doesn't look like there's been much activity in some time. Someone was talking about bulbs sprouting soon, and now we're beginning to look at autumn.

Anyone from the Chicago 'burbs? I'm in Cary (between Barrington and Crystal Lake).

Well hello to some neighbors! It's good to know! Gloria, I was just in McHenry last week. There's a nice little breakfast place called Windhill that we like, and I was checking out bakeries in the area for my daughter's wedding. What do you guys say we get to know each other online to start? I'll send a friend request thingie. Keep an eye out for me!

Would anyone be interested in attending a retreat that is held in my area for trauma victims? I find it extremely healing. When I feel sorry for myself and I hear other people's stories that I'm not alone. I also realize that you overcome these things. They have a lot of meditation and small groups and it is non-denominational even though it is run by Catholics. We only use the word "Higher Power".

I think the best way to get this going is to exchange e-mails and copy everyone so we can set something up.

Hi, I live in Wonder Lake, just west of McHenry. I'm looking for fellow "sufferers" to get to know. I have 12 step background, but need something more specific to PTSD. I spend a lot of time in Crystal Lake, so living out in the sticks isn't a problem.

I'm new to the Forum, so I'm not sure how to be contacted, but I'll watch for any notifications or alerts.

I was just in Wonder Lake as I take my pets to the Wonder Lake Veterinary clinic. I'm just the other side of the rive in McHenry. I shop at the Walmart and everything in McHenry as I'm sure you do. I have 12 step background but want to start a support group here in McHenry. Have you heard of Villa Desideratu? Well, they have all sorts of 12 step programs each week there. There is also the AlAnon club on 31 in McHenry and they might let us use the facility for a PTSD meeting.
