Odd things i like about my t

I like that my Therapist is much older than me. I could not work with a male t unless they were much older for some reason. Makes me more comfortable and not feel as threatened and uncomfortable. Still feel vulnerable but that’s how it goes In therapy.

I like that she is the same age as me....she knows what its like to be a young woman my age because she is one and worries about some of the same things I do so she is really relatable and I don't feel afraid of her like I have with Ts twice my age.

I love that I can make him laugh so easily. And I love that he explains the science behind what he does - he gets into the nuts and bolts of it all. When I took neuropsych a couple semesters back, he was the reason I passed. And the homework help was free (via email).

I have a habit of making light of things when shit is going bad. I really like how my t matches that.

A few sessions ago I could feel a dissociative flashback coming on - rare that I notice it - and was just so fed up with losing time when that’s happened before that I fought it. Really hard. It didn’t go well. I don’t recommend it. My t spent the rest of the session bringing me back down to earth and only asked a couple of questions because I didn’t have the strength to answer. When I told her I was fighting it she said that’s not a great idea. My wry reply was “now you tell me” lol I was struggling to even sit upright. And so she said she really needed to upgrade her couch to one that you see on the TV shows so I could lie down. It was said with such gentle humour and I really felt connected to her in such a bizarre and terrifying moment that would otherwise have felt weak and shameful.

I like that my T tells me things about herself, is not a blank screen, is upfront with me, encourages me, swears and she can kick butt LOL :hilarious: yes, I have a ninja T, what a nice change it is from my previous ones! :ninja::roflmao::inlove:
