Hi everyone
Dont quiet know what to expect at the doctors thursday. To discuss what kind of medication I am going on, so not quiet sure how this is going to affect me. And bit worried about side effects as well so any tips would be helpfull.

I would say that everybody reacts a little bit differently to different meds. Please let us know what med they put you on. I can only imagine that you are feeling a bit anxious about the appointment.

Let the doc know your concerns and they should talk a bit more on it

Make sure you get all the facts you can. Ask what the medication is for, how it will benefit you, how long it may take to feel the effects, and any side effects you might get. Also check if any of the meds will affect your ability to drive or work. As others have said meds are a very individual thing, and some people will swear by one drug, while others will swear by another. You may have to try a few different meds to find one that works for you. This is completely normal. The best thing you can do for yourself is to be fully informed about your medicines, and be sure to read the leaflet that should be enclosed in the drugs. Good luck.

Hello all
Just to let you know i went to the doctors on friday,And have been put on anti deppresants and sleeping tablets and beta blockers.To see if they help me to try and over come my trauma and panic attacks/flashbacks

I hope the meds help you. I have been suffering from ptsd symptoms for years and I think bipolar disorder too although I'm not diagnosed but I am on a mood stabilizer and an anti-depressant. The meds for the most do their job because there is finally no fluctuation with my mood, that emotional ache is gone, there's no craziness. Unfortuantely, it's not a magical cure because I still have to deal with all this crap but without the meds I'd be 100X's worse off. Heather.
