Nature....again....the bunny, the frog, the garter snake, the deer mama and baby, the turkeys, the crows, the blue birds, the finches, the cardinals, the hummingbirds, the flutter bys, the dragon flies, the crickets, the tree frogs, the cicadas, and all the other ones I don't see or hear within my days.

I remember one summer i woke up to baby racoons playing on the neighbour swing set and slide as the mom washed her face in kiddie pool.

A treasured homemade clock with a needlepoint face snafoo'ed when the motor fried but yesterday when my husband took the back panel off so he could see if it could be repaired there was an inscription written in pencil on the inside:

"Kit purchased for $13.00. Assembled, stained & varnished by Hugo Marnatti for his wife Marion, April 1969 - Embroidery by Marion"

We both said, "Awww how cool 50 years ago almost exactly to the month!" I said, "Yeah, it reminds me of my grandfather" and he said "Me too." Now we're debating adding our own mark to the inside of the clock and we've opted out of the typical clock kits that use batteries... and are researching the correct electric motor to keep it as original as possible. It made us smile to find something unexpectedly that a loving husband somewhere did for his wife and that it was a mutual project. Now we're restoring it while we repair it as a couple, lovingly 50 years later to the month. I wish I could put a photo of the clock but mister has it apart already.
