One Thing That Made You Smile Today?

Seeing the hubby walking much more comfortably today after having his gout-ridden toe wrapped in cabbage leaves and rubbed down with arnica salve yesterday and last night, as he still awaits the refill on his meds they were out of. It always tickles me when my so-called "out there" solutions work really well for someone other than myself. ?

A good friend of mine was lamenting that he Dr wants her to give up spinach, which she loves, because it thins her blood. She was hating the idea even.

Then later she was saying she needed to cut some things out of her budget. So I said, why not spinach? We both laughed and laughed. I was happy to get her laughing, and to laugh too. "Laughter is the best medicine."

Just some good memories like the time when school was out for the year and we burned our school papers in my neighbor's pot belly stove. We danced around that stove until there was nothing but ashes in it. (He had brought it outside for us.)

Another childhood memory. We were selling chestnuts from my grandmother's tree out by the road. We had a sign saying so. As time went on, no chestnuts were sold. Our little neighbor came outside to see what we were doin. He was four years old and I was six. My sister got a great idea. She arranged the neighbor kid and I on top of the table we had the chestnuts on, and told us to kiss every time a car came by! So we kissed and the next car stopped and bought some from us. In a short time we sold out.

I remembered another childhood memory. This one we would take empty bottles and fill them with water and food coloring and a dish soap that has irredesence in it. This made the liquid really shine. Then we would shine flashlights into the liquid at night and it was just so pretty.
