The Killer Cardinal

A pair of cardinals has made a nest outside the door the Newfs go out of into the yard. Each time one sticks their nose out the door, the male cardinal dive bombs them so all three of them are terrified. I even went out the door to get them to follow and I had a bunch of whinny baby newfs who were scared to exit and by the way not one of them was brave enough to protect me from the killer cardinal. :roflmao:

So I'm out weeding the garden today and most people worry about rabbits, deer or other animals eating the veggies. Nope not me, I have Newfs that just love bell peppers. Well one of my Newfs isn't the brightest and Moose comes tearing out to the front yard, mouth foaming and he is rubbing his face in the grass and whinning. At first I thought he got stung....but no, he bit into a jalapeno.

Gave him some vanilla ice cream and that seemed to help and I doubt he will be stealing peppers anytime soon.

Making dinner and I hear water running. Since I am the only human at home, there should not be water running. So time to investigate to see what has broken and as I follow the sound....I find a Newf in the bath tub and she has turned on the water. Fortunately she doesn't know how to plug the drain or there could be real trouble. However, she is on her back rolling around in the water and then of course when I come in, she jumps out and takes her wet self running through the house. So I get to clean the tub, and wipe water up. Time to get newf proof plumbing fixtures.

Here is a picture of my sisters puppy...She is a joy and I hate that I have to have a new home for her. I have grown quite attached to her. She will come to me when I cry and cover my face with puppy kisses and make me laugh. Her name is Dixie...

I thought I was going to have to have my pet Guinea Pig put down today, but thankfully the vet offered to treat him for free and find a new home for him. He's been sick for awhile now and I was not able to afford to pay for continuing vet care, plus I have no vehicle to get to the vet's with, and who wants to transport me and my pet every week to the vet's, so this was what was best for him and for me too. I'll miss his squeels and squeeks and all, it will be quiet, but that is just going to have to be, because there seemed to have been no other solution. I am kind of sad though, and I did shed a few tears. I don't cry very often, like hardly ever, so this is probably going to affect me for awhile. I will miss him!
