Our Pets

I'm kinda with Miss on this one - who cares if she knows it was you? This is a kitty life we're talking about! I don't know how anyone could just leave their pet behind. My fiance and I have been through rough patches where the only thing that kept us together was the cats. Dumb, I know, but they make us work things out, for them.

I really believe that if there's such a thing as soulmates, it's not people, it's the animals in our lives.

Annie in her suitcase.

I'll be sure to pass that along to her, though I gotta say she knows it! Someday I will try to get a picture of her when she is begging for something. She sits back on her hind legs and puts her two front paws high in the air. I didn't teach her how to do it, though I've encouraged it highly. My guess is is that she knows that she is way too cute and uses it to get peanut butter and other human delights.

You can probably guess from my avatar that I am a cat man and I'm not afraid to admit it! Although I like all animals really... I just own two furry fuzz-ball kitties. The one in my avatar is Bernie, and I have another grey kitty named Lucy.

Bernie sleeps at the edge of the bed or at the doorway. He has appointed himself the protector of the room... I like to think he has mystical cat abilities to keep my PTSD demons from getting in the room at night. Lucy likes to check on me at night as well but she has other favorite spots to sleep.

Bernie also has a favorite toy... a shoestring that he quite literally carries around in his mouth from room to room. He plops it at your feet and then paws at you until you pick it up for him to chase. Too cute... until you are eating dinner and he won't leave you alone.

Lucy meanwhile has many toys stashed all around the house. She likes to rediscover them in a room that you aren't in, start yeowling at the top of her lungs "look!!! I caught this toy that I have caught 100 times before!!", and then proudly bring it into the room and drop it at your feet for approval. She loves to do this at 2 am. She is also a big fan of barfing on my bed. I love her all the same!

Ah, cats!

Hi livergirl

This may sound a bit devious and detective like. But if you put a bit of clear sticky take over part of the door and frame, keep an eye on it for about 48 hours. If the tape has not been disturbed in that time, then report this to the RSPCA.

It does sound bad, but at least you will then know if anyone has been in to feed and check on the cat. Especially, if your neighbour does not contact you either.

OMG - she looks evil:devilish: Hahahaha! She's really not it's the way the flash from the camera is hitting her eyes! She really is sweet.... I promise! Well, most of the time!:D:p

Awww kitties!!! I've always loved cats, when I was little I would always bring home strays. They were easier to sneak than dogs, because I could just say they showed up in the yard and act like I didn't know where they came from. My cat Sweetie acts like a co-parent to my kids. When I was pregnant she would drape herself over my tummy to keep it warm. And when the kids were little and they woke up crying, sometimes she would get to them before me. I would go to check on them and she would run and cuddle up next to them, as though she was trying to comfort them. She follows me everywhere and behaves almost like a dog, she will even come wait with me at the bus stop when the kids are going to and from school and tries to jump in the car with me if I have to go somewhere. I was never really a dog person until I got Akira, but now I love dogs just as much. I chose her because she looks like a wolf and I love wolves, also when I saw the shelter picture of her trying to hide her face I could tell she seemed shy and skittish and wanted to help her. Akira is very sweet, playful, and good with the kids but I'm certain she was abused by someone in the past. She jumps at loud sounds like I do, if anyone is yelling she will run and hide under something and if you have something big in your hand near her she ducks away like she's going to get hit. I love her and won't let anyone hurt her ever again though. I don't even feel comfortable being in a house without cats or dogs. They make me feel safer somehow.

Cocoa is SO CUTE Heather, and there are definitely no rules against posting multiple pictures. I like to be reminded of all of the fluffers who enrich our lives.

I'm honestly a cat person. I do not have the daily energy most dogs require. I do not have the patience for constant face licking or wet noses. I am a reader and writer and like to be lazy and quiet and in my house. Thankfully, Annie is incredibly lazy (she is currently sleeping in her suitcase with her floppy little legs and head hanging out of the suitcase in all directions). If I ever got her a playmate, though, I would DEFINITELY get her a kitten. She loves cats and would be so happy if she had one of her own. Oops, there I go personifying her... getting her pets and such... >.<

I know I post here constantly but had to post again to say how adorable Cocoa was and that, once more, I am so thankful for every day that our pets enrich for us. The daily rewards are endless.
