The Rainbow Bridge inspired by a Norse legend

By the edge of a woods, at the foot of a hill, Is a lush, green meadow where time stands still.
Where the friends of man and woman do run, When their time on earth is over and done.
For here, between this world and the next, Is a place where each beloved creature finds rest.
On this golden land, they wait and they play, Till the Rainbow Bridge they cross over one day.

No more do they suffer, in pain or in sadness, For here they are whole, their lives filled with gladness.
Their limbs are restored, their health renewed, Their bodies have healed, with strength imbued.
They romp through the grass, without even a care, Until one day they start, and sniff at the air.
All ears prick forward, eyes dart front and back, Then all of a sudden, one breaks from the pack.
For just at that instant, their eyes have met; Together again, both person and pet.

So they run to each other, these friends from long past, The time of their parting is over at last.
The sadness they felt while they were apart, Has turned into joy once more in each heart.

Animals have saved my life on more than one occasion. I have a dog now, who is with me all the time. <--- that's him zonked out on the bed.
Will post a pic of him in his new boots after I upload them. (He has bad allergies.)

Haha, my neighbours old Irish Wolfhound had to wear boots as he was flat footed - yes, I kid you not. He was so adorable, well as adorable as a pony sized dog can be :roflmao:

This is my horse, Luke. This is a long-time dream that I got to realize. I never could have a horse as a child and I didnt' want to take on the responsibility when my children were little, as there was little time. He is a draft horse and I have always loved the drafts for their gentle strength. He and I have a lot to learn about each other and I have a lot to learn about care and riding. My youngest daughter E is a good teacher as is my dear friend. He has become a spot of brightness in what is turning out to be a very dark winter. He came the day before everything tanked here. I believe everything happens for a reason, even when I do not understand the reason. Luke is something I dont' have to analyze, just enjoy. Something I don't allow myself to do very often.

Our animals love us for being us, they love us warts and all - thank goodness.

My cat has her own bed hung on the radiator, but can get her nose closer to the heat here. No way is she moving today LOL.
