As we have discussed, we have now created a forum called "Out your Abuser". The main forum is visable to the public, and search engines. Then there is a 'sub forum', which is members only. Any content posted in the 'sub forum', will only be visable to members of this forum. It will not be visable to any guests, the public, or search engines.

So for those of you, that want to 'name' your abuser, the new forums are there for you. Base any posts on true facts, and hopefully you will feel the benefit. No more secrets!

Cherry Blossom,

If I post the names of these criminals at the public level of the Out The Abuser forum will it show as an anonymous post by member? Or would it show that member name: J.C. posted that so and so is a criminal at large for SA crimes against my her? If the later, oh boy I should have picked a more clever screen name like Death To Invaders.

I think I'm too freaked out that if those criminals search the net and find that call out...then join the forum as a poseur/lurker...and I get stalked. I have been stalked several times in real life and on the net. So just wondering how safe this is for me, (calling out the abuser). I do well know how silence kills and how good it feels to call an abuser out. I have learned that the truth can end up getting me into a lot more trouble than if I had just let it go.

Thank you,
JC

It would show exactly as your post shows above, with your avatar and name on the left hand side - all posts show that way.

Perhaps you could start by posting in the 'Members only' part of out your abuser. This area can't be seen by search engines or the public (guests).

I also should have mentioned earlier that you can set various 'privacy' options in your profile, as to who can see what information. We are also pretty strict with members. If you were to have any issues, just report them or their posts to me. If it is warranted, they will be banned.

The public "Out Your Abuser" forum is [DLMURL="http://sexabuse.ptsdforum.org/forums/out-your-abuser.40/"]here[/DLMURL]

As a software quality assurance analyst, I must tell you that these links aren't working as expected when I am not logged in. In fact, the 'public' link you list in the post immediately before this one takes me to the private link.

I have to logon to get that link to take me to the 'public' link.

Also, google searches aren't landing on my post.

Hi,

I think your confused and should recheck where the links take you before commenting further. I have just check both links above your post, and both are correct. The second should make you login, the first only has one thread in it as its public.

I just checked Google listings, and listings correctly direct to the page here. Maybe you should provide some examples vs. just saying something is broken that demonstrates otherwise.

I don't work for this site. I was being helpful.
If I am not logged in, I am not directed correctly.

Other than that, I don't want to argue with a programmer. I do that all day long.
