Yes you can mask PTSD easily to people who have no idea you have it. Once someone knows you have it you can't mask it. Other thing I noticed is once you know they have PTSD everything is like omg makes so much sense what's going on

Anthony is right, imo.

You will have to determine how much of his behavior you are willing to take.
His behavior will take a lot of time and effort to change even if he wants to be different.
The Knight's armor no longer shines, reality has set in.
Don't believe that YOU can change him.....he can only change himself.
You can't fix him.

I feel your confusion and pain, the internal conflict....it is very hard.
