Myself @Ed Norton and @Trauma have set ourselves a task.

I, for myself will purchase a nice shiny pair of Black Tap Shoes, take up proper Tap Dancing like I did in my childhood as a 44 yr old adult.

Ed Norton will be taking up his drum sticks and playing drums again after a break of approx 2 years.

Trauma for her young member age will be taking up swimming again after a 2 years break, For Trauma a big deal personally and an achievement she would be proud to attain.

So my question of the Forum is this.

Anyone else fancy taking up an old hobby or pastime either just for fun or for a fitness, self pride outcome.

Laurie,

Basically for me, having to give up my dance totally at the age of 17 just before I joined the Armed Forces was the biggest decision of my life. To give up on a dream that I had held dear since the age of Three.

So, I am back in my childhood town and the Dance School I used to belong to is still here, but as an academy now.

They have "Adult" tap classes on a Monday night.

All it will take is a nice shiny pair of black shoes with Tap-Dance Cleats attached to the heels and the toe plates.

SO!. What exactly is there stopping me taking up a childhood vision in my adult years, nothing what-so-ever.

Tap was always my favourite as I watched Fred Astaire's and Ginger Rogers as a small lad.

So then Laurie, hoist ones under crackers, bite the bullet and enrol!

:D

I re-picked tai chi... the total basics being so goddamn difficult, and so satisfying at it, something firm to go back to.

Goals? Drawing / painting. So behind on it, it's been a for-later goal for past... two years? , something like it.

And graffiti. When I find spaces for it. Still on a look out. (Looking for legal walls and unclaimed spaces.)

I really want to get into krav maga. I think I need it, and I've wanted it for years, but been too afraid. However, it's $100/month, which is a bit for an unemployed college student living off student loans! But yet I've wanted this for so long....hmmmm. I don't know--maybe the interviews will pan out and I can finally start!
